Magic Is In The Air With “Moonspell Magic” Charming Your Way

Magic Is In The Air With “Moonspell Magic” Charming Your Way

Summerween, anyone?

While October may be the season most associated with spooky fun, summer has found its own way to enchant toy lovers with the arrival of the next must-have doll collection: “Moonspell Magic” from Monster High.

Toy and doll fans already know just how groundbreaking Monster High has been since its debut in the early 2010s. Over the years, the franchise has broken molds, embraced creativity, and built a world that continues to resonate with collectors and fans of all ages around the globe.

Monster High has always been a brand willing to take creative risks. Across its three generations, Mattel has continually expanded the franchise in new directions. While monsters have always remained at the heart of the series, the company also ventured beyond those familiar halls with its sister franchise, “Ever After High.” The beloved doll line and accompanying media centered on the children of famous fairy tale characters, creating an entirely new magical world inspired by classic stories.

While highly regarded by fans—and supported by an engaging overarching narrative that kept viewers eagerly awaiting each new YouTube episode—Ever After High never reached the same commercial success as its sister franchise. Eventually, the storybook closed, leaving many collectors wondering whether Mattel had quietly shelved the idea of expanding the larger Monster High universe.

Until now.

After months of anticipation, Monster High’s newest hauntingly magical spin-off has finally arrived.

Welcome to Moonspell Magic.

Following the introduction of fan-favorite Draculaura’s growing connection to witchcraft and magic, Mattel is expanding that idea even further by introducing Moonspell High—a school where witches and monsters coexist. The new lineup of students—Claire de Luna, Willow Thorne, Carina Song, Layla Stone, and Rae Lumina—must learn not only the power of magic, but also the importance of friendship and embracing what makes each of them unique.

Preorder links for all four core characters are now live, giving collectors the opportunity to secure the new witches before they disappear from online shelves and send fans on a magical hunt through local retailers.

Although fans first caught a glimpse of the dolls during this year’s Toy Fair, Mattel has remained relatively quiet about its long-term plans for Moonspell Magic. With Monster High now focusing more heavily on short-form digital content and YouTube rather than a continuing animated television series, it’s possible that introductions to Moonspell High and its characters may follow a similar path.

The entertainment landscape has changed considerably since both Monster High and Ever After High first debuted, making it unlikely that Mattel will simply repeat its previous strategy. Digital storytelling feels like the most natural next step, even if the exact format remains a mystery. Full-length animated series, films, or publishing initiatives seem less certain for now.

Still, one thing Monster High has consistently proven over the years is that it’s never afraid to surprise its fans.

With a little magic once again filling the air, it may be far too early to count out what Moonspell Magic could become.
