Bentley Griffin (the voice of Lincoln Loud) took some time to talk to us about The Loud House upcoming episode “Save Royal Woods!” as well as a bunch of other things.
In the special, Royal Woods is in danger of being flooded to make room for a sixth Great Lake, and this will bring the town together to prove that they are worth saving. The musical episode will have four original songs, which will be sung by the Loud family as well as some of the other residents of Royal Woods.
BSCKids: Did you get a chance to talk to any of the other people who have voiced Lincoln Loud after getting the role? If so, what did they have to say?
Bentley Griffin: Yes, I was lucky enough to get to meet Asher Bishop, the previous Lincoln, on another project we worked on. He was really cool and I am so glad I met him! Some advice he gave me was to have fun with the show and enjoy it, which I always do every time I record! Another thing Asher said to me was that The Loud House fam and all the people that make it happen are awesome. He was right! I love going in every time and talking with everybody and of course doing the work as Lincoln.
How was it filming a musical episode? There were a lot of guest stars – did you get to interact with them, and did you learn anything from them?
The musical episode was sooo much fun to film! I had such a great time watching and hearing the show develop and I loved getting to do all the singing! Unfortunately, because of all the COVID rules I was unable to get to meet any other actors at the time and it was only until recently that I met the rest of the cast. The musical episode is going to be a lot of fun and I hope everyone enjoys it!
Speaking of music, what are you currently listening to?
I am currently listening to a lot of different artists but up in the top five are Elton John, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, and the Beach Boys.
Tell us about your family, do you have any brothers or sisters?
I do have one little bro and his name is Dawson. He also voices some fun characters on other shows, and of course now I have the Loud family with “One boy, ten girls! Wouldn’t trade it for the world!”
Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you.
I have a few things I love. One is a HUGE obsession with mythology. Up in my top five faves are Greek Mythology, Norse Mythology, Egyptian Mythology, Hindu Mythology, and Roman Mythology. Another thing I love is History, which kind of ties into Mythology and both are fascinating. I love to read all the time which is how I was introduced to Mythology when I entered the fantastical world of Percy Jackson. I love the author and have read all his books. Reading is a cool way to find something you love, it worked for me!
If you could guest star on another Nickelodeon show, which one would it be?
Some of my favorite animated shows growing up have been SpongeBob SquarePants and also Paw Patrol! I think they are such fun and silly shows and I would love to have a part in them! As for live action I love Danger Force. They’re so cool and I think it would be fun to be on that show.
If you could pick your favorite episode of The Loud House, which one would it be?
I am torn between two different episodes. I’m so excited about the upcoming musical episode, or Season 5, Episode 1 “Schooled!” with Asher Bishop.
Why do you think The Loud House has lasted so many seasons?
I believe the reason that it has lasted so long is because it’s a fun and feel-good show that makes you laugh, but also always ends with a good lesson on life with friends and family.
What else are you working on that you can tell us about?
One of my first projects was a podcast for the BBC called “Once Upon a Time in Zombieville” for the visually impaired and anyone who loves mystery and sci-fi should check it out. I took over the role of Jaime in series 4. Another cool project I was a part of was the animated movie Belle where I played as Tomo and his virtual alter ego in the fantastical virtual world of “U” in the English dub. I have a few more awesome projects coming out in the near future, so stay tuned!
Special thanks to Bentley Griffin and make sure to tune in to the musical half-hour special of Nickelodeon’s The Loud House which will air on Nickelodeon Friday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
This episode is going to have Christine Baranski as Joyce Crandall, the perky and often clueless Under Secretary of Water Leisure for the state of Michigan; and Yvette Nicole Brown as Mayor Davis, a quirky and fun working mom who loves her trademark pantsuit. The voice cast of The Loud House includes Bentley Griffin as Lincoln Loud; Jaeden White as Clyde McBride; Catherine Taber as Lori; Liliana Mumy as Leni; Nika Futterman as Luna; Cristina Pucelli as Luan; Jessica DiCicco as Lynn and Lucy; Grey Griffin as Lola, Lana, and Lily; and Lara Jill Miller as Lisa. The Loud House debuted on Nickelodeon in May 2016 and centers on 12-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family. As one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon with 176 episodes, the property also has been translated into a comic book series, which continues to roll out new stories, chapter books, a digital album, and a podcast, Listen Out Loud. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner. Kyle Marshall serves as co-executive producer and Ashley Kliment-Baker is art director.
