Sophie Michelle is starring in a new Brat TV series, Stage Fright and she is absolutely killing it. Sophie is at least a triple threat with acting, music, and content creation and we got the chance to talk to her about the series and her career.
We would love to introduce you to actress, musician, content creator and STAR of Brat TV’s newest series “Stage Fright”, Sophie Michelle. Following in the footsteps of today’s top teen idols, Annie Leblanc, Kenzie Ziegler and Nia Sioux, Sophie leads the series as “Lizzy”, the stage manager of her school’s musical who becomes fixated on discovering the truth after a mysterious chandelier accident leaves the play’s lead in a coma.
BSCKids: Tell us a bit about your role on Stage Fright and how you got cast on the show?
Sophie Michelle: My character’s name is Lizzy. She’s the stage director of her school’s theater program. She is very type-a, bubbly, loyal and kind. I was so excited to book this role because I’ve always loved acting. I was really lucky that one of the casting directors had seen me acting in another project and reached out to see if I might be a good fit for the part. I’m so glad she did because playing Lizzy has been a dream come true! When I found out I booked this role, I flipped!
Do you have anything in common with your character on the show?
For sure! I think the thing about Lizzy that I find a lot in myself is that she is very loyal to her friends. If I could describe myself in 3 words the top one would def be loyal.
How was it meeting the cast for the show? Any fun behind the scenes stories you can tell us about?
I say this every time and it couldn’t be more accurate. When the cast first met, we definitely all clicked. All of our personalities went really well together like we were pieces in a puzzle. A fun behind-the-scenes moment that we had is when the whole cast was shooting a scene in the office together. It was a serious moment but we could not keep a straight face! All of the scenes that had the main cast in it took a few tries, that’s for sure.
What is one thing that makes Stage Fright a unique show?
One thing that really got me hooked when I was reading the script for the first time was that it was a mystery show. I love watching a show that puts me on the edge of my seat and keeps me wondering.
Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you?
Something that not a lot of people might know about me is that I love the cold. My mom was born in Brazil so she is very used to having it at 79° or higher in the house. But I personally love snow and being able to snuggle up and have a cup of hot cocoa.

Acting or Singing, which one do you find harder to do?
I’m really passionate about both singing and acting. I find both come very naturally to me but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have things to learn in each space but I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s hard. I would just say that it takes a lot of hard work, and if you’re committed and it’s something you love, it’s fun!
So when you first got started on YouTube, what was your goal? Do you feel like you have achieved that goal? When you look back on some of the first videos how do you feel about them now?
When I first started YouTube, my main goal was to spread the message of reaching for your dreams! When I first started, I unfortunately experienced some hate and people around me at school didn’t really support me. But, I knew YouTube and becoming an actress and singer was my dream. I definitely feel happy and accomplished with the amount of people I was able to reach out to to spread that message globally. When I look back at my old videos, sometimes I feel embarrassed but I think that’s the process of just growing up. I have been a digital creator for quite some time now so I get to see how much I improved in video creating.
Who are some of your favorite influencers on social media right now.
Definitely David Dobrik, Emma Chamberlain and Aspyn Ovard
What is your favorite picture on your Instagram and why?
My favorite picture on Instagram that I have posted at the moment is probably the first one I’ve ever posted with my dog, Leo. He is a nine-month-old Yorkshire terrier. He has made such a positive impact on my life these past few months and he means the world to me. He is my first dog ever so the first picture is definitely a memory I want to save.
What else do you have coming up in the future that you can tell us about?
During quarantine I have been working on lots of music and song writing. So stay tuned for a new song coming soon!
Why should everyone be watching Stage Fright?
Stage Fright is a mystery show that you definitely don’t wanna miss. There is so much going on and the main lesson in the show is how much friendship matters. If Lizzy didn’t have her crew or her friends with her to help her solve the mystery of the chandelier crash. She probably wouldn’t have been able to solve it at all. Being loyal to a team is so important. I hope everyone who watches Stage Fright loves it as much as I do!
Thanks to Sophie Michelle for speaking with us, now go watch her in Stage Fright.
