Not only do we get a new Big Nate book in Big Nate: Blow the Roof Off!, but that also comes at the heels of the announcement of Big Nate getting animated on Nickelodeon. So if you remember from our last review, we left on a big of a cliffhanger with Nate meeting a mysterious girl, but not being able to find her again. We are super glad that Lincoln Peirce decided to continue that story into this new Big Nate book.
This book seems a bit more one story focused we thought, with the large part of Big Nate: Blow the Roof Off! being the relationship between Nate and his summer crush. All the situations seemed very life like and many readers will flash back to their middle school days. What we also enjoyed is that this looks like it will carry over to the next book as well. Their relationship is really fun to watch and the whole 6th grader dating a 7th grader makes for some fun. As Lincoln Peirce always does, he has us anxious for the next Big Nate book, always leaving his audience wanting more.
