ELENA
Elena of Avalor and Jenna Ortega, were both winners at the Imagen Awards 2018. Best Children’s Program went to Elena of Avalor while Jenna Ortega of Stuck in the Middle, won Best Young Actor.
We love Jenna Ortega and she is deserves this award as she absolutely phenomenal as Harley Diaz in the show. She played the character perfectly and had us loving her character on the show being a super smart girl who was known for her inventions and her creative thinking. It is these two things that really made the show fun to watch as we get to see how she interacts with the rest of the Diaz family.
Jenna Ortega also voices Princess Isabel on the Disney Channel animated show, Elena of Avalor. She is Elena’s sister as well as being a princess of the Kingdom of Avalor. So while both Stuck in the Middle, and Sofia the First have ended or are ending, we will get more of Elena and friends (including Princess Isabel) in September with the release of Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas. Being part of this show along with her individual awards must be an honor for her.
Other winners in the Disney area included Best Feature Film – Coco, Best Director – Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina for Coco, as well as many other winners for the 33rd annual awards, which can be found at the Imagen site.
