It looks like Adventure Bay’s favorite team of heroic pups isn’t going to be slowing down anytime soon!

With PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie continuing the franchise’s adventures on the big screen, it seems that Spin Master and Paramount are already looking ahead to what comes next for Ryder and his team. And while audiences still have plenty to look forward to from the beloved preschool franchise, there is now confirmation that another theatrical adventure is officially in the works.

That’s right, PAW Patrol 4 is already in development!

According to a new report from Deadline, Spin Master Entertainment, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies are moving forward with a fourth installment in the animated film franchise, with a theatrical release currently being targeted for 2029.

And there is some familiar talent returning to help bring this next chapter to life.

Cal Brunker, who directed PAW Patrol: The Movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, is returning to direct the upcoming installment. He will also reunite with Bob Barlen to write the new film, continuing the creative partnership that has helped establish the franchise’s theatrical identity.

While details surrounding the story have yet to be revealed, Brunker has confirmed that a new adventure has already been written, giving us our first indication that the team has a direction in mind for where the pups will be heading next.

And considering just how much the PAW Patrol films have continued to expand the world of the original television series, there are certainly quite a few possibilities for what this next adventure could bring.

Since making the jump to theaters in 2021, the franchise has taken Ryder and his team beyond their familiar missions in Adventure Bay, introducing larger adventures, new characters and challenges that have allowed the pups to take on stories designed specifically for the big screen.

From their adventures in Adventure City to the superpowered excitement of The Mighty Movie and the prehistoric world of The Dino Movie, each installment has continued to explore different possibilities for the characters while maintaining the teamwork, friendship and heroic spirit that have always been at the center of PAW Patrol.

And with Brunker and Barlen returning once again, it will be interesting to see what direction the fourth film takes, particularly as the franchise continues to find new ways to build upon its established world.

The announcement also comes as PAW Patrol continues to establish itself as one of the most recognizable preschool entertainment properties in the world.

Since its original debut in 2013, the series has expanded into more than 190 territories and 33 languages, with a growing collection of television episodes, specials, movies, toys and other experiences. The three theatrical films have collectively earned more than half a billion dollars worldwide, while the larger franchise has generated $18 billion in lifetime retail sales.

But the upcoming fourth film is only one part of what Spin Master has planned for the future.

The company has also outlined its intention to continue expanding the PAW Patrol universe through additional series, specials, short-form content and connected play experiences, suggesting that there are still plenty of new adventures waiting for the next generation of young fans.

For now, there are still some questions surrounding PAW Patrol 4, including what the story will be about, which characters will take center stage and whether any new pups will be joining the team.

And with a targeted release still several years away, it will likely be some time before we begin getting a clearer look at what Brunker and Barlen have planned.

PAW Patrol 4 is currently targeting a theatrical release in 2029 through Paramount, with additional details expected to be announced as development continues.

Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
