Okay, When Does the U.S. Get One? Third “Peppa Pig Play Cafe” Opens in China

Okay, When Does the U.S. Get One? Third “Peppa Pig Play Cafe” Opens in China

Okay, Hasbro.

We have a question.

When does the U.S. get one?

A third “Peppa Pig Play Cafe” is opening this October in Suzhou, China, expanding a concept that combines the world of everyone’s favorite little pig with interactive play, character encounters and themed dining designed specifically for young children and their families.

And after three locations, we are officially getting a little jealous.

The new Suzhou destination gives preschoolers another opportunity to step directly into Peppa’s world rather than simply watching her adventures on screen. Kids can play throughout the themed environment, meet characters and explore attractions before families settle in for food inspired by the experience.

That combination is an important part of what Hasbro has been learning as it continues developing the concept.

After opening the first two locations, the company has been refining elements of the Play Cafe model, particularly its menu and the balance between the dining and play portions of a visit. Hasbro views the concept as something that needs to work for both sides of the family experience: toddlers need somewhere they can run around and play, while parents need the dining portion to be good enough to make the entire outing worthwhile.

And apparently, it is working.

Hasbro considers the Peppa Pig Play Cafe concept a success and is reaching the point where the model can become more repeatable, taking what worked at earlier locations, adjusting what didn’t and applying those lessons as additional destinations are developed.

Which brings us right back to our question.

When does the U.S. get one?

Because a Peppa Pig cafe feels almost perfectly designed for the preschool audience. Unlike an experience that asks a young child to follow an elaborate storyline or spend an entire day navigating a massive attraction, this gives them something much closer to the way they already play.

Run around. Explore. Meet Peppa. Eat something. Probably run around again.

Sounds like a pretty successful day when you’re four.

The third Play Cafe also arrives as Hasbro continues making a much larger push into physical entertainment experiences around the world.

The company has several new and upcoming attractions based on its brands, including “Clue: Murder on the Menu” in Charlotte, North Carolina; the Nerf Coaster at Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro in Alberta, Canada; “Monopoly Experience: Treasures of Brazil” in São Paulo; the Play-Doh Imagination Center in Abha, Saudi Arabia; and “Transformers: Battle of Cybertron” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Now another Transformers experience has a name.

“Transformers Mission Energon Gramado” is set to open in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil before the end of 2026. Created through a collaboration between Hasbro and Dream Cars Automóveis e Eventos, the project will become Hasbro’s first fixed immersive attraction in the country.

The location itself is part of the strategy. Hasbro is increasingly looking at whether individual markets can support permanent experiences, considering tourism, competition and what families and visitors actually want to do once they arrive.

That last part might be the most important.

A familiar character can get someone interested, but the experience still has to be fun once they walk through the door.

For Peppa, Hasbro seems to be finding that balance by creating something aimed directly at how preschoolers and their families spend time together. The play gets children through the door, the themed world makes Peppa feel real and the cafe turns the visit into something the entire family can share.

Three locations later, it seems like Peppa’s little cafe experiment is becoming something considerably bigger.

So we’ll ask one more time.

Hasbro, when does the U.S. get one?

Because we’re ready to book a table.

Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
