Oh, the Minis You’ll Make! MGA’s Miniverse Turns Classic Characters Into Tiny Babies

We have made tiny food.

We have collected tiny animals.

And somewhere along the way, MGA’s Miniverse apparently decided what we really needed next was an itty-bitty Cookie Monster baby with an equally tiny cookie cake.

You know what?

They might be right.

MGA’s Miniverse is getting ready to make some classic childhood characters considerably smaller with the new “Make It Mini Real Baby Classics” collection, bringing familiar faces from “Sesame Street,” “Curious George,” “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and Dr. Seuss into the miniature world.

But these aren’t simply tiny versions of the characters we already know.

They’re babies.

Each collectible pairs its little character with a themed food creation, resulting in the kind of wonderfully specific combinations that have made discovering a new Miniverse series half the fun.

“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” gets a Fruit Picnic, while Curious George is naturally paired with a Banana Split. Over on Sesame Street, Abby Cadabby comes with ice cream, Big Bird has yogurt and crackers, Cookie Monster gets a Cookie Cake and Elmo is ready to celebrate with a Birthday Cake.

Then Dr. Seuss joins the miniature celebration with an “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” Birthday Cake.

And because a collectible series needs something to send everyone hunting through capsules, there is an ultra-rare release waiting to be found.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are joining the collection together as twin babies with their own Snack Box.

Of course they are.

The lineup gives Miniverse another fun way to play with properties generations of families already recognize. Rather than simply shrinking existing characters and calling it a day, “Real Baby Classics” gives each one its own miniature setup, mixing the familiar world of these stories and characters with the food-focused creativity already associated with Make It Mini.

There is something especially charming about the selection too.

“The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” Curious George, Sesame Street and Dr. Seuss have all become part of childhood for generations, meaning these little babies aren’t necessarily collectibles only today’s kids will recognize. Parents who grew up with the same characters now have another very tiny way to share them.

Or collect them for themselves.

We aren’t judging.

And “Real Baby Classics” isn’t the only new miniature cuteness on the way.

MGA’s Miniverse Make It Mini Animals Series 3 is also expanding the pet lineup with a Corgi, Dachshund, Chihuahua, two different Kitten Duos, Raccoon, Sloth and Otter.

Yes, there are tiny kittens.

Two sets of them.

Our shelves were doomed from the beginning.

For collectors looking to start hunting, “Make It Mini Real Baby Classics” is being offered in a two-pack option with no duplicates, while “Make It Mini Animals Series 3” has a three-pack option with no duplicates.

Between tiny pets and some of childhood’s most recognizable characters getting an unexpected baby makeover, Miniverse continues to prove there are very few things it can’t make smaller.

Now we just need to find Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Because apparently hunting for two ultra-rare miniature Dr. Seuss babies is a perfectly normal thing we’re doing now.
