It looks like someone might have forgotten to keep an eye on their Chocolate Frog!
With the grand opening of the new Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street just around the corner, a rather familiar treat from the Wizarding World has managed to make its way into the streets of London. And in true Chocolate Frog fashion, it seems that this particular one had no intention of staying where it belonged.
That’s right, a giant Chocolate Frog has been spotted in Piccadilly Circus, bringing a little unexpected magic to the busy streets of central London ahead of the new flagship store’s November 4 opening.
For those familiar with the Harry Potter franchise, Chocolate Frogs have always been a rather interesting part of the Wizarding World. After all, these aren’t exactly your ordinary chocolate treats. With a tendency to jump away before anyone has the chance to enjoy them, it’s probably not too surprising that one has apparently managed to escape into the real world.
And the location of this unusual appearance makes the whole thing even more fitting.
Piccadilly Circus has its own connection to the Harry Potter films, appearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 when Harry, Ron and Hermione unexpectedly find themselves in the middle of London’s busy streets. Now, years later, another familiar piece of the Wizarding World has found its way to the very same location, surprising commuters and visitors before eventually making its way back home.
But the Chocolate Frog’s little adventure is only the beginning of what fans can look forward to.
The new Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street is preparing to open its doors on November 4, bringing a collection of interactive experiences, exclusive merchandise and familiar locations from the beloved franchise together under one roof.
And while we already knew that the new location would feature a Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragon, a full-sized Knight Bus and elements inspired by the Leaky Cauldron, Warner Bros. has now revealed even more of what visitors can expect when they step inside.
Among the newly announced experiences is the Hogwarts Bear Ceremony, which will allow fans to create their very own personalized Hogwarts companion. Visitors will be able to dress their bear in a Hogwarts house robe, scarf and tie before receiving their finished creation in an exclusive collector’s box, complete with a personalized certificate.
And for those looking to give their new companion a little extra personality, additional accessories will also be available, including house mascot plush, a Sorting Hat, Harry’s glasses and even a Hogwarts trunk.
But that’s not the only interactive experience waiting for fans.
The new Gringotts Adventure will invite visitors to take part in a special activity inspired by the Wizarding World’s famous bank. After purchasing a specially created Gringotts cheque book and receiving a collectible Galleon, fans will be able to explore the store in search of magical stamping locations while completing activities along the way.
The experience will also extend beyond Oxford Street, with visitors able to continue their adventure at Harry Potter Shop King’s Cross, where they can collect a Sickle and another stamp for their cheque book.
And of course, no new flagship location would be complete without a few exclusive collectibles.
The Oxford Street shop will introduce a selection of merchandise created specifically for the location, including 500 MinaLima prints, a Diagon Alley wand and a special Leaky Cauldron collection.
With so many different experiences being brought together, the new location is shaping up to be more than simply another place to shop for Harry Potter merchandise. From creating a personalized Hogwarts bear to exploring the store through a Gringotts-inspired adventure, there will be opportunities for visitors to interact with the Wizarding World in ways that go beyond picking up their favorite collectibles.
And with the giant Chocolate Frog already making an appearance before the doors have even opened, it seems that the magic is getting started a little early.
Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street officially opens November 4, 2026, at The Ribbon, 134–140 Oxford Street in London, with additional details available through the official Harry Potter Shop website.
