“True and the Rainbow Kingdom” Brings Problem-Solving Adventures to the Nurture Kids App

“True and the Rainbow Kingdom” Brings Problem-Solving Adventures to the Nurture Kids App

When something goes wrong in the Rainbow Kingdom, True can always find a way to make things right.

But solving a really big problem doesn’t necessarily mean finding one really big solution. Sometimes the best thing you can do is stay calm, take a closer look and tackle things one little problem at a time.

Now, kids can practice doing just that alongside True and Bartleby.

Nurture and Guru Studio have teamed up to bring “True and the Rainbow Kingdom” to the Nurture Life Readiness platform with a new interactive adventure designed for children ages 4–7. Available now through the Nurture Kids app, the experience brings kids directly into True’s latest mission while encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking and staying calm when things don’t quite go according to plan.

And things definitely don’t go according to plan in “Hino Tari Havoc!”

The adventure begins with True and her best friend Bartleby the cat transporting three rare Hino Tari eggs down the Rainbow Kingdom River so they can be reunited with their mom. Unfortunately, their trip takes a rather troublesome turn when their boat hits a rock, springs a leak, sends the eggs bouncing loose and, just to make the situation even easier, loses its steering wheel.

That’s a lot of problems for one little boat ride.

Rather than panic, True introduces Bartleby—and the child playing along—to what she calls “trouble goggles.” The idea helps kids look at one overwhelming problem and break it down into a series of smaller challenges they can work through individually.

Instead of pushing children toward the fastest response or expecting them to discover one correct answer immediately, “Hino Tari Havoc!” focuses on sequencing, following through on a solution and remaining calm under pressure. Kids watch True and Bartleby encounter the problem, but then become part of the story themselves as they work through what needs to happen next.

It’s an approach that feels particularly fitting for “True and the Rainbow Kingdom.”

True’s newest adventure isn’t simply asking children to watch her save the day. This time, she is helping them understand the process behind solving a problem, then giving them room to try that process for themselves. A sinking boat and three runaway eggs might make the lesson considerably more colorful, but the idea behind it is something kids can carry well beyond the Rainbow Kingdom.

The Nurture partnership also arrives during a particularly active period for True. New “True and the Rainbow Kingdom” Shorts recently launched on YouTube and have already surpassed 150 million views in their first 30 days.

Guru Studio President and Executive Creative Director Frank Falcone said the Nurture collaboration offers another way to bring the series to life while maintaining the spirit and heart that have connected True with families around the world.

Nurture Co-Founder and CEO Roger Egan said the platform was created to give young children engaging opportunities to practice skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking and remaining steady when something goes wrong. Nurture Co-Founders and Co-Chief Creative Officers Scott and Julie Stewart similarly explained that the adventures use storytelling and meaningful interaction to let children encounter a problem alongside the characters before taking an active role in breaking it down and solving it themselves.

“True and the Rainbow Kingdom” joins other brands that have recently partnered with Nurture, including Crayola, Care Bears and Pocoyo.

“Hino Tari Havoc!” is available now in the Nurture Kids app through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

So the next time one really big problem comes along, young adventurers might just know what to do.

Trouble goggles on.

Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
