The holidays have arrived for Snoopy and his friends, and everyone is doing their best to make sure they end up on Santa’s nice list.
Well, almost everyone.
Because while the rest of the “Peanuts” gang is on their best behavior, Snoopy has somehow managed to land himself on the naughty list.
Apple TV is bringing the beloved beagle and his friends back for another seasonal adventure in the all-new “Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy,” premiering Friday, November 13. And with Christmas getting closer, Snoopy has exactly 12 days to prove to Santa that he isn’t such a bad beagle after all.
Which, knowing Snoopy, could go in any number of directions.
As Snoopy sets out to clear his good name, his 12-day mission becomes about more than simply making sure there is something waiting for him under the tree. Along the way, he begins to discover that the season—and being good—is about far more than the gifts you receive.
It is a fitting setup for a new “Peanuts” holiday story.
Seasonal specials have long been an important part of the “Peanuts” legacy, finding stories in the excitement, anxieties and quieter emotions that surround different celebrations throughout the year. “12 Days of Snoopy” gets to approach those ideas through perhaps the most unpredictable member of the entire gang, giving Snoopy a very important reason to try being on his absolute best behavior.
At least for 12 days.
And his latest adventure is going to have quite the soundtrack accompanying it.
Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Morrow scores the special, which also features original music from a massive lineup of artists. EGOT honoree John Legend performs “Get Ready,” produced by Raphael Saadiq, while Grammy Award winner Kamasi Washington performs “Trying To Get There” featuring Leon Bridges. Laufey will also perform the holiday classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” produced by Spencer Stewart.
Inspired by Charles M. Schulz’s original “Peanuts” comic strip, “Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy” is produced by Peanuts and WildBrain. Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Paige Braddock, Chris Brocco and Mark Evestaff serve as executive producers.
The new special will also arrive amid plenty of opportunities to spend the season with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the gang.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” and Apple TV will once again make several classic “Peanuts” specials available to stream for free during select weekends. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be free October 17–18, followed by “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” November 14–15 and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” December 12–13. All three are already available to Apple TV subscribers throughout the year.
So there will be no shortage of opportunities to spend the coming months with Snoopy and friends.
The only question now is whether Snoopy can actually stay out of trouble long enough to convince Santa he belongs on the nice list.
Twelve days, Snoopy.
You can do this.
