Peppa Pig and Elmo are back together again in a YouTube Short that has them spotlighting the playful language and pronunciation differences between children on either side of the Atlantic. Peppa and Elmo explore vacation vs. holiday as well as the pronunciation differences of “tomato” vs “tomahto” as well as the age old question of Elmo wondering if cookies and biscuits are the same thing. This is really a fun one that help the world become just a little bit smaller for all of our friends.

Peppa Pig and Sesame Street drop a bite-sized new YouTube Short exploring the delicious differences between British and American English one snack at a time

WHAT: Hasbro and Sesame Workshop are releasing a brand-new YouTube Short as part of their first-ever content collaboration, premiering today on both the Peppa Pig and Sesame Street YouTube channels. The Short finds Peppa and Elmo heading to Cookie Monster’s cookie cart for a snack and noticing they don’t always use the same word to mean the same thing.

When Peppa reveals that back home in the UK, cookies are called “biscuits,” the two friends can’t help but wonder: if cookies and biscuits are the same thing, what else might be different? A trash can is a bin, while a banana is a… banana, just with a rather different accent. And when Elmo asks whether Peppa has a different word for “friend,” she smiles and says: “Elmo.”

US vs. UK Pronunciation is the second installment of the Peppa Pig x Sesame Street YouTube collaboration series, which launched September 2 with Elmo and Peppa’s Muddy Puddles (Dance Remix). The fun continues with a third video to follow October 28.
