In July, fans of the fantastical multimedia franchise My Little Pony rejoiced at the news that everyone’s favorite ponies would be trotting back onto screens in 2027.
While fans immediately began wondering what tales could be waiting on the horizon, Hasbro went ahead and released the first song from this new iteration’s music library — the new series’ theme.
Then, subsequently, last month pony fans were delighted by the first character-focused song for none other than our leading pony, Twilight Sparkle.
While we still have “Stay Curious” on loop — and is it ever destined for more than a few end-of-year music recaps — Hasbro has already gone ahead and released its next character-focused single.
It’s time to party with everyone’s favorite resident party planner.
That’s right.
It’s Pinkie Pie’s time behind the mic!
Similar to Twilight’s song, this isn’t just an upbeat dance track. It’s also a reintroduction to Pinkie Pie.
While Pinkie is always going to be our celebration-loving girl, we can already see some slight changes as she isn’t focused solely on parties, but fun as a whole.
Sure, that was something fairly well connected to her previous G4 self. However, it almost makes us wonder if the role of the supportive best friend — in her own very Pinkie Pie way — is going to rest a little more heavily on her this time around.
It was a role that, at times, felt like it leaned toward both Applejack and Rarity to varying degrees throughout their previous story.
With Rarity and Applejack absent from the key visuals released so far, it leaves us wondering whether some of that supportive pillar within the group could shift back toward Pinkie.
Granted, we have already seen online conjecture that both ponies could join this new project at a later time.
But until we receive official word from Hasbro or My Little Pony themselves, that remains nothing more than rumor.
As we slowly trot toward 2027, one thing is becoming increasingly clear — we’re about to meet new versions of the ponies we treasure.
And that is every bit as magical as their friendship.
