Order Up! MGA’s Miniverse Is Building a Mini Taco Bell With New “Decades” Collection

We have made tiny cakes, tiny drinks, tiny dinners and more miniature foods than we probably should admit to wanting on our shelves.

Now MGA’s Miniverse is opening a fast-food restaurant.

Taco Bell is getting an even bigger place inside the ever-growing world of MGA’s Miniverse with the upcoming Make It Mini Taco Bell Series 2 Decades collection. Rather than simply shrinking down some of the chain’s current favorites, this new series is digging through Taco Bell’s history and bringing back menu items from the 1960s all the way through Y2K.

So, yes, your miniature Taco Bell order can now technically be older than you are.

Eight different menu sets will be available to collect, beginning with the Bean Tostada and Bellburger from the 1960s. The 1970s are represented by the Enchirito and Green Sauce Burrito, while the Taco Salad and Meximelt take collectors back to the 1980s. The Gordita Supreme represents the 1990s before the collection reaches Y2K with perhaps its most nostalgic combination: a Caramel Apple Empanada and Baja Blast set.

As with other Make It Mini releases, each mystery capsule includes the miniature ingredients and accessories needed to assemble its tiny meal before displaying the finished creation. The surprise element remains part of the experience as well, so collectors won’t know which era of Taco Bell history they are about to revisit until they open the capsule.

Yet the new Decades collection is only one part of what Miniverse is cooking up.

MGA is also introducing a Make It Mini Taco Bell Restaurant, taking the fast-food collaboration from individual menu items to an entire miniature location. The $29.99 buildable playset includes two walls, Taco Bell wallpaper, a service counter, menu boards, signage, a taco-making station and other realistic accessories that can be arranged into a tiny restaurant display.

The restaurant can then be expanded using the Taco Bell mystery capsules and Taco Bell appliances from Make It Mini Appliances Series 3, each sold separately. Put everything together and collectors aren’t simply making individual miniature meals anymore; they’re gradually building and stocking their own Taco Bell.

That makes this latest expansion particularly fun for Miniverse. Food has always been central to Make It Mini, but recognizable restaurants offer an entirely different direction for the line to explore. Instead of recreating a generic taco, burger or drink, collectors can build the foods, equipment and eventually the locations connected to familiar fast-food brands.

There is also something clever about making Taco Bell’s history part of the collection. Some of these foods have disappeared from menus, others have returned over the years and a few are likely to immediately unlock memories for collectors who remember ordering them. Turning those different eras into miniatures gives the series a little food history alongside the usual crafting and collecting.

Of course, it also means your tiny Taco Bell can apparently operate across several decades simultaneously.

MGA’s Miniverse Make It Mini Taco Bell Series 2 Decades is scheduled for release October 1 for $12.99 per mystery capsule, with eight menu sets to collect. The Make It Mini Taco Bell Restaurant will be available separately for $29.99.
