The upcoming 112-page book collects more than 100 illustrated life lessons inspired by SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and plenty of other familiar faces from Bikini Bottom and beyond.

Because when the Magic Conch isn’t around to tell you what to do, apparently a book is the next best thing.

Across the collection, fans will find lessons covering everything from work and friendship to community and adventure.

SpongeBob and his fellow fry cooks tackle the world of work, including getting along with coworkers, doing your best and — something SpongeBob certainly doesn’t need any help with — actually enjoying your job.

SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy offer their thoughts on friendship, while Squidward and Mrs. Puff help tackle community and making connections.

We are apparently taking advice about connecting with our neighbors from Squidward Tentacles.

What could possibly go wrong?

Things get a little more adventurous from there as characters including the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune offer lessons about charting your own course, overcoming the inevitable bumps along the way and remaining resilient when life doesn’t exactly go according to plan.

And beneath all the jellyfishing, Krabby Patties and general Bikini Bottom chaos, there might actually be something fitting about turning SpongeBob SquarePants into a guide to life.

After all, SpongeBob has spent decades approaching nearly everything thrown his way with enthusiasm, determination and an almost impossible amount of optimism.

Perhaps the little yellow sponge really has been preparing us for this all along.
