Are you ready for a scare?
We might only be making our way through August, but spooky season is already creeping around the corner. And Build-A-Bear Workshop is wasting no time getting into the Halloween spirit.
Build-A-Bear’s “Spooky Stuff You Love” collection has officially returned for 2026, bringing with it a new assortment of creepy, cuddly and sometimes downright unusual furry friends ready to make this Halloween a little more adorable.
And this year’s newest friend has eight legs.
Leading the collection is the all-new Jumping Spider, transforming the tiny creatures that have unexpectedly become social media stars into one very different kind of Build-A-Bear friend.
Over the past few years, jumping spiders have developed their own passionate online following thanks to their expressive appearances, viral pet videos and the growing community of people keeping them as pets. Now, Build-A-Bear is taking that fascination and giving it a spooky-cute twist just in time for Halloween.
The Jumping Spider can be personalized through Build-A-Bear’s traditional Make-Your-Own Experience with outfits, scents, sounds and accessories. For those who might want something a little smaller crawling around, the spider is also available as a Mini Beans collectible and bag charm.
But one spider isn’t taking over spooky season alone.
Several Halloween favorites are crawling, flying and howling their way back into Workshops this year.
The Posable Bat returns with moveable wings for different displays, alongside an even bigger Giant Posable Bat aimed at fans who want their Halloween collection supersized.
The Mystical Werewolf puts a cuddly spin on the classic monster, while the Enchanting Kitty and returning Batty Kitty bring some feline magic into the season.
Build-A-Bear is also continuing to grow its newer Mashimal collection with the Owloween Cauldron Mashimal. The line, which debuted earlier this summer, combines animals, objects and other ideas into unusual new characters, and naturally Halloween offers plenty of possibilities to get a little weird.
There is even something coming out of the Build-A-Bear vault.
The Pumpkin Pal Teddy is officially returning as part of the Vault Collection, bringing a nostalgic Halloween favorite back for longtime Build-A-Bear fans while introducing the character to a new generation.
And the spooky takeover doesn’t stop with the larger plush.
Build-A-Bear is expanding Halloween across its increasingly collectible Mini Beans lineup with smaller versions of the Jumping Spider, Midnight Bat, Mystical Werewolf, Batty Kitty and Candy Corn Longhorn.
Fans can also carry a little Halloween around with them through new Jumping Spider, Bat, Spooky Kitty and Spooky Cute Bear bag charms.
Naturally, there are plenty of seasonal outfits, scents, sounds and accessories to complete the experience and get existing furry friends ready for Halloween too.
It is another example of how much Build-A-Bear has embraced the changing audience surrounding its brand.
The Workshop experience may still be rooted in creating a new furry friend, but seasonal releases have increasingly become events of their own for families, longtime fans and adult collectors alike. Halloween in particular gives Build-A-Bear the perfect excuse to venture outside the traditional teddy bear and turn everything from werewolves and bats to an internet-famous arachnid into something worth cuddling.
After all, spooky doesn’t always have to mean scary.
Sometimes it has eight fuzzy legs.
Build-A-Bear’s 2026 “Spooky Stuff You Love” collection is available now at participating Build-A-Bear Workshop locations and online while supplies last.
Halloween might still be a few months away, but the spooky season takeover has officially begun.
