Some stories are meant to be watched.

Others are meant to be held close.

This holiday season, the characters from Haylett Entertainment’s “Piney: The Lonesome Pine” are making the jump from the screen into the arms of kids and families with a new plush collection from Teddy Mountain.

The new line will feature Piney and Jackster in both retail-ready and DIY plush formats, giving families a new way to bring the heart of the holiday special home.

For a story centered around discovering your own worth and understanding that being different does not make you any less special, plush feels like a particularly fitting next step.

After all, Piney’s story has always been about finding where you belong.

Now, kids can give the little tree a place of his own inside their homes.

Teddy Mountain is positioning the collection as part of the growing holiday tradition surrounding “Piney: The Lonesome Pine,” with the company describing the special as an evergreen favorite for families.

The plush line will begin arriving at specialty retailers nationwide in early December, putting Piney and Jackster on shelves just in time for the holiday shopping season.

The characters will also be offered to wholesalers through Teddy Mountain’s distribution network across North America, the U.K., Europe and the Middle East.

For creators Jane Bakerink and Jay Bakerink, seeing Piney and Jackster transformed into plush characters marks another evolution for a story built around self-acceptance.

The pair noted that Piney was created around the message that everyone is special exactly as they are, making the opportunity for children to physically hold and hug these characters particularly meaningful.

And that may ultimately be what makes this collection stand out.

Holiday specials have a unique way of becoming traditions. Families return to the same stories year after year, and over time those characters begin feeling like familiar visitors who arrive alongside the season itself.

With these new plush releases, Piney and Jackster are getting the chance to move beyond the screen and become part of those traditions in an entirely new way.

Because sometimes the best reminder that you belong is something you can keep right beside you.
