Education Meets Play: National Geographic Brings VR Learning to Back-to-School

As students prepare to head back into the classroom, educational brands continue finding new ways to make learning more engaging beyond traditional textbooks.

National Geographic and Abacus are expanding that experience with a new line of virtual reality learning kits designed to blend STEM education, books and immersive technology into interactive lessons that bring classroom subjects to life.

Launching for the back-to-school season, the collection uses smartphone-powered VR experiences to transform learning into an adventure while reinforcing topics students are already exploring in school.

The initial lineup includes National Geographic Virtual Reality: World Wonders, which takes children on immersive journeys to famous landmarks while introducing geography and history, alongside National Geographic Virtual Reality: Extinction, allowing young learners to travel back in time to discover dinosaurs and prehistoric life while exploring evolution and Earth’s changing ecosystems.

Rather than replacing traditional education, the kits are designed to extend classroom learning through interactive experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration and hands-on discovery.

The release reflects a growing trend of educational brands blending technology and play, giving families new ways to make learning feel less like homework and more like an adventure as the new school year approaches.

Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
