“Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks” Podcast Gives Classic Disney Favorites a New Way to Connect with Fans

Disney is continuing to find new ways to celebrate its decades of storytelling by expanding beyond streaming and into the podcast space.

Now streaming, the new Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Podcast gives fans a chance to revisit many of the movies that helped define Disney Channel’s golden era while offering behind-the-scenes stories and fresh conversations that connect longtime audiences with a new generation discovering these titles for the first time.

Hosted by Good Trouble stars Sherry Cola and Cierra Ramirez, the video podcast explores the cultural impact, production stories and lasting legacy behind some of Disney’s most recognizable films. Rather than simply looking back through nostalgia, the series highlights why these movies continue to resonate years after their original release and how they continue finding new audiences through Disney+.

The premiere episode, available now, shines the spotlight on Camp Rock with guests Maria Canals-Barrera and Liamani Segura. The timing also serves as a natural bridge to the franchise’s future, arriving just ahead of the highly anticipated debut of Camp Rock 3.

Upcoming episodes continue the celebration of Disney Channel’s legacy with The Cheetah Girls, featuring Raven-Symoné, before revisiting High School Musical alongside Monique Coleman and KayCee Stroh as the iconic musical franchise continues celebrating its enduring popularity more than two decades later.

The podcast also works hand-in-hand with Disney+’s growing Throwbacks Collection, which already houses beloved titles including Hannah Montana, The Parent Trap, Glee, Cheaper by the Dozen, Full House, The Lizzie McGuire Movie and many more. By pairing these classics with new conversations from the stars who helped create them, Disney is transforming its catalog into an ongoing fan experience rather than simply a streaming library.

It’s another example of Disney broadening how audiences engage with its intellectual property. Rather than relying solely on new films and series, the company is leveraging podcasts, short-form content and curated collections to keep legacy franchises relevant across multiple platforms. The approach not only encourages longtime fans to revisit childhood favorites, but also provides younger viewers with additional context and behind-the-scenes insight that strengthens their connection to these stories.

As Disney continues evolving its digital strategy, Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Podcast demonstrates how legacy content can continue growing well beyond its original release. By blending nostalgia with new conversations and creator perspectives, the company is giving some of its most iconic franchises another platform to thrive while reinforcing the lasting impact of Disney Channel’s extensive library for generations of fans.
