Disney Dreamlight Valley Is Finally Opening the Door to Disney Channel — And That Could Change Everything

Disney Dreamlight Valley Is Finally Opening the Door to Disney Channel — And That Could Change Everything

The Valley is getting a little more Disney Channel magic.

Since its launch, Disney Dreamlight Valley has continued to grow into something of a Disney version of The Sims, allowing fans to build their own magical world alongside characters from across Disney and Pixar’s massive library.

From Mickey and friends to Disney Princesses, Pixar favorites and even some of the company’s more unexpected characters, the Valley has become an ever-growing celebration of Disney history.

But now, Disney is beginning to open a rather exciting new door.

Disney Channel is entering the Valley.

During D23, it was revealed that Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire will officially become part of Disney Dreamlight Valley through a new Premium Shop collection arriving August 19.

While Miley Stewart and Lizzie themselves aren’t moving into the Valley — at least not yet — players will be able to dress their Avatars in new outfits inspired by the two Disney Channel icons.

And that might sound like a smaller addition compared to introducing an entirely new character, but what it represents could be much bigger.

Until now, Dreamlight Valley has largely centered its massive crossover universe around Disney and Pixar’s theatrical and animated properties. Bringing two unmistakably Disney Channel franchises into the mix begins expanding what “Disney” can mean within the game.

And suddenly, the possibilities become enormous.

Could we eventually see Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable wandering around the Valley? What about Phineas and Ferb setting up their latest invention? Or characters from newer Disney Channel worlds such as Dragon Striker and The Doomies?

There are decades of Disney Channel characters, shows and stories that could potentially be tapped if Disney and developer Gameloft continue moving in this direction.

For longtime Disney fans, that could turn Dreamlight Valley into something even closer to the ultimate playable Disney universe — one where the company’s theatrical classics don’t have to be separated from the characters generations grew up watching every afternoon on television.

And Disney isn’t stopping with its television history.

The D23 presentation revealed several major additions coming throughout the remainder of 2026.

Things are getting appropriately spooky in September when Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas finally enters the game as part of a new Halloween event. Players can expect weekly quests, seasonal rewards and festivities leading into Halloween.

Then, December will finally deliver a reunion fans have been waiting for.

Lilo is coming to the Valley.

With Stitch already calling Dreamlight Valley home, Lilo’s arrival will finally bring the pair back together and give players another piece of the beloved Lilo & Stitch world.

The announcements follow an already busy period for the game. The recently released Honeyglow Woods adventure pack expanded the Valley with Winnie the Pooh, bringing Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet into new stories and environments, while the Pixel Perfect expansion added Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph last month.

D23 also offered fans their first look at Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea, teasing yet another adventure waiting beyond the horizon.

Yet, among all those announcements, the arrival of Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire may be one of the most interesting.

Because Disney has an enormous television library that Dreamlight Valley has barely begun to touch.

If these collections are the first step toward embracing Disney Channel as part of the game’s larger universe, there are countless characters waiting for their invitation.

And we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a certain teenage crime fighter get the call.

So, Disney — what’s the sitch?
