One of the biggest preschool brands in the world is officially making its next major move.
After years of dominating YouTube, streaming and consumer products, CoComelon is heading to the big screen with CoComelon: The Movie, marking the franchise’s first theatrical feature. Set to arrive exclusively in theaters on Feb. 19, 2027, the musical adventure signals another major milestone as the preschool powerhouse continues expanding far beyond its digital roots.
Designed as a cinematic event for longtime fans and a new generation of families, CoComelon: The Movie introduces an original story packed with music, humor and heart while delivering 10 brand-new songs and an all-new fantasy world created specifically for the big screen.
The story follows JJ as he prepares for one of childhood’s biggest milestones: his first day of kindergarten. But when his beloved stuffed bear, Boba, mysteriously disappears, JJ joins friends Cody, CeCe and Nina on an adventure into a magical kingdom ruled by Princess Harmony—a world where singing has been outlawed. Along the way, the group discovers the importance of courage, friendship and finding their own voice.
The film also brings together an impressive voice cast led by Grammy Award-winning artist SZA as Princess Harmony, alongside Nicholas Hoult as Boba and Ike Barinholtz as Princess Harmony’s loyal enforcer, Chicken Peels. Joining them are Saturday Night Live stars Sarah Sherman and Ego Nwodim, comedian Josh Johnson, Rhys Darby, Matthew Friend and Ted Lasso breakout Cristo Fernández.
Behind the scenes, the project is directed by Kat Good, whose animation credits include Kung Fu Panda, Megamind and Penguins of Madagascar. The film’s original music is executive produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Justin Tranter, known for collaborations with artists including Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and Chappell Roan.
Produced by Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios and DreamWorks Animation with animation by DNEG Group, the film will be distributed globally by Universal Pictures.
The theatrical debut represents the latest evolution for a franchise that has become one of children’s entertainment’s biggest success stories. Today, CoComelon reaches families in more than 80 countries and over 20 languages while averaging more than four billion monthly YouTube views. Alongside its flagship series, the brand has continued expanding through CoComelon Lane on Netflix, JJ’s Animal Time, The Melon Patch, live experiences, publishing, music and an ever-growing consumer products business.
Now, with a theatrical feature on the horizon, CoComelon is taking its biggest step yet—bringing one of the world’s most recognizable preschool franchises to the silver screen for the very first time.
