Right off the hooves of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con — and the news that a brand-new adventure for fans of My Little Pony is on the way — the magic of this iconic franchise is lingering in the air.

While we have yet to uncover the magic and adventures that await these beloved characters, we are excited to return to their roots and celebrate everything Hasbro’s beloved magical world of My Little Pony has achieved.

And you can’t quite connect “magic” with the realm of everything and anything pony without recounting the most popularized iteration of the franchise. Just a little something we may recall as, well, Friendship Is Magic.

And while we know the most powerful aspect of the series is — well — friendship, the magic behind this iteration of the beloved pony franchise can all be traced back to one talented creative who, honestly, needs no introduction.

That’s right.

BSCKids was given the absolute and total privilege and honor of sitting down with the magical storyteller herself, Lauren Faust.
