Tamagotchi Celebrates 30 Years By Bringing The Experience Directly To Fans

Tamagotchi Celebrates 30 Years By Bringing The Experience Directly To Fans

Celebrating a milestone is no longer just about releasing a commemorative product—it’s about creating an experience.

As more entertainment and toy brands look beyond traditional merchandise to connect with audiences in new ways, Tamagotchi is taking its 30th anniversary celebration on the road with the return of the Tamagotchi USA Road Trip, bringing interactive events to eight cities across the United States this fall.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural tour, Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America is expanding the experience as fans celebrate three decades of one of the world’s most recognizable virtual pets.

The free traveling event invites longtime fans and newcomers alike to immerse themselves in the world of Tamagotchi through interactive games and activities, hands-on opportunities to explore the latest products, exclusive merchandise, themed photo opportunities and the chance to meet fellow members of the Tamagotchi community. No tickets are required to attend.

The 2026 Tamagotchi USA Road Trip will make stops at:

  • Aug. 15–16 – Mall of America – Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Aug. 22–23 – Greenwood Park Mall – Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Aug. 29–30 – Polaris Fashion Place – Columbus, Ohio
  • Sept. 5–6 – Lehigh Valley Mall – Philadelphia area, Pennsylvania
  • Sept. 12–13 – Westfarms Mall – Hartford, Connecticut
  • Sept. 19–20 – Crabtree – Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Sept. 26–27 – Mall of Georgia – Atlanta, Georgia
  • Oct. 3–4 – Wolfchase Galleria – Memphis, Tennessee

The tour also reflects a larger movement happening throughout the toy and entertainment industries.

Rather than simply commemorating anniversaries with limited-edition products, many beloved brands are creating immersive events that invite fans to celebrate together. Concert tours, traveling exhibits, pop-up activations and community gatherings have become increasingly important, allowing audiences to step inside the worlds they grew up with while making new memories alongside fellow fans.

For Tamagotchi, that evolution feels especially fitting. Since first introducing millions of children to the responsibility of caring for a virtual pet, the franchise has continued evolving with new devices, collaborations and collectibles while maintaining the nostalgic charm that made it a global phenomenon.

Thirty years later, many of those original players are now introducing Tamagotchi to a new generation, turning the anniversary into something the entire family can enjoy together.

As fandom continues growing beyond the screen and the toy shelf, experiences like the Tamagotchi USA Road Trip show that today’s biggest celebrations aren’t simply about looking back—they’re about bringing fans together to create new memories for the future.
