“Steps” Continues Building Its Fairy Tale World With New All-Star Voice Cast”

Netflix’s next fairy tale adventure is continuing to take shape.

Following previous looks at its imaginative reimagining of the classic Cinderella story, Steps has unveiled another exciting wave of casting as the animated feature prepares to arrive this fall, adding even more star power to one of Netflix Animation’s most anticipated original films.

Joining the cast are Daniel Radcliffe as the film’s unconventional Prince, Young Mazino as the mysterious heartthrob Gef and Peter Dinklage as the mysterious Roderick, a murderous man-nanny whose role promises to add another unexpected twist to the story.

The trio joins an already impressive voice cast led by Ali Wong and Stephanie Hsu as stepsisters Lilith and Margot, alongside Amanda Seyfried as Cinderella, Bette Midler as an unconventional Fairy Godmother and Nikki Glaser as the villainous Priscilla.

Unlike traditional retellings of the beloved fairy tale, Steps shifts the spotlight away from Cinderella herself, instead exploring the relationship between two sisters who have long been remembered simply as the “evil stepsisters.”

When Lilith steals the Fairy Godmother’s magical wand in an attempt to rewrite her own destiny, the kingdom quickly falls into chaos, forcing the sisters to embark on an unexpected adventure alongside Cinderella herself to save both the kingdom and their fractured relationship.

That fresh perspective has quickly become one of the film’s defining strengths.

Rather than simply retelling a familiar fairy tale, Steps asks audiences to look beyond the labels attached to classic characters, exploring themes of belonging, identity, family and second chances through a modern lens. It is a direction that continues reflecting animation’s growing interest in revisiting timeless stories while uncovering entirely new voices hidden within them.

The expanding cast only reinforces those ambitions. Bringing together acclaimed performers from film, television and comedy creates a rich ensemble capable of balancing the humor, heart and adventure that have already become hallmarks of the project’s early previews.

As November draws closer, Steps continues proving that there are still plenty of fresh stories waiting to be discovered inside some of the world’s oldest fairy tales.

Steps premieres Nov. 20 on Netflix.
