More than 15 years after launching onto mobile phones around the world, Angry Birds continues finding new ways to reach audiences.
As the iconic franchise prepares for its next major theatrical adventure, Rovio Entertainment is expanding the birds’ animated adventures through a new distribution partnership that will introduce the beloved series to even more families worldwide.
CosmoBlue Media has acquired television and video-on-demand rights to the Angry Birds animated catalog, bringing several of the franchise’s most popular series to its growing lineup of family entertainment platforms beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The agreement will make fan-favorite productions including Angry Birds Toons, Angry Birds Blues and Angry Birds Slingshot Stories available across CosmoGO, Da Vinci and their associated digital services, giving audiences another opportunity to enjoy the franchise’s signature brand of fast-paced, dialogue-free comedy.
Built around the never-ending rivalry between the resourceful birds and the mischievous green pigs, the animated shorts have become a natural extension of one of gaming’s biggest success stories. Their visual storytelling allows the humor to resonate across languages and cultures, helping the series remain accessible to audiences around the globe.
The latest agreement represents another milestone in Angry Birds’ continued expansion beyond its gaming roots.
Since first debuting as a mobile game in 2009, the franchise has evolved into one of the entertainment industry’s most recognizable global brands. Alongside billions of game downloads, Angry Birds has successfully expanded through animated series, theatrical films, consumer products, location-based attractions and a growing slate of licensing partnerships that continue introducing the feathered flock to new audiences.
The new distribution deal also arrives at an important time for the franchise. Later this year, The Angry Birds Movie 3 will return the iconic birds to theaters, giving the brand another opportunity to connect with longtime fans while welcoming a new generation discovering the colorful world for the first time.
By making its animated catalog available across additional streaming and digital platforms, Rovio continues strengthening the franchise’s presence between theatrical releases, ensuring families can easily revisit the stories that helped transform Angry Birds from a mobile game into a multimedia entertainment phenomenon.
The partnership also reflects a broader strategy seen throughout today’s family entertainment landscape, where successful franchises increasingly focus on making their content available wherever audiences choose to watch. Rather than relying on a single platform, brands continue broadening their distribution to maximize accessibility and maintain long-term engagement.
For Angry Birds, that strategy has helped sustain one of gaming’s most enduring success stories. More than a decade after first taking flight, the flock continues soaring across new platforms, new audiences and new forms of entertainment—demonstrating that the rivalry between birds and pigs remains as popular as ever.
With a new theatrical adventure on the horizon and expanded access to its animated catalog, Angry Birds is continuing to prove that its global journey is far from over.
