Wonderland Awaits In First Descendants: Wicked Wonderland Teaser

We’re all mad here once again.

Disney has officially unveiled the first teaser for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, giving fans their first look at the next chapter in the ever-growing Descendants universe. Alongside the new footage, Disney also confirmed that the highly anticipated special will premiere July 16 on Disney Channel before arriving on Disney+ the following day.

Just when Red and Chloe thought they had fixed Wonderland’s future, things are about to become far more complicated.

Following the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red, the Queen of Hearts has changed her ways and Cinderella remains safe. However, altering the past has created an entirely new problem. Enter Maddox Hatter, who emerges as a new threat after capturing the Queen of Hearts and throwing Wonderland into chaos once more.

To save both the Queen and Wonderland itself, Red and Chloe must embark on another adventure alongside a new generation of Disney descendants. Joining the journey are Red’s sister Pink, Luisa Madrigal’s son Luis, Captain Hook’s daughter Hazel and Maddox’s son Max as they navigate unexpected alliances, hidden dangers and a Wonderland where nothing is quite what it seems.

The teaser also offers fans a glimpse at several new faces entering the franchise, while familiar favorites return to continue the story audiences first embraced in The Rise of Red.

Adding even more star power to the adventure, acclaimed actress and comedian Awkwafina joins the cast as Chessy the Cat, a new Wonderland resident who looks ready to bring plenty of mischief to the story.

Returning cast members include Kylie Cantrall as Red, Malia Baker as Chloe, Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter, Melanie Paxson as the Fairy Godmother, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts and Brandy as Cinderella.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Descendants without music. Disney has confirmed that brand-new musical numbers and dance sequences will once again play a major role in the story, continuing a tradition that has helped define the franchise since its debut a decade ago.

Since first arriving on screens in 2015, Descendants has grown into one of Disney’s most successful modern franchises, inspiring films, music, books, merchandise, live tours and a devoted fanbase that continues to follow each new generation of heroes and villains.

With a return trip to Wonderland just around the corner, fans won’t have to wait much longer to discover what new secrets, surprises and twists are waiting down the rabbit hole.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland premieres July 16 on Disney Channel and begins streaming July 17 on Disney+.
