Get ready for mischief, mayhem and plenty of imagination because The Cat in the Hat is heading back to the big screen in a way fans have never seen before.
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has officially released a brand-new trailer for The Cat in the Hat, offering audiences their best look yet at the iconic Dr. Seuss character’s upcoming animated theatrical debut. Alongside the trailer, fans can also check out new key art showcasing the legendary feline surrounded by an army of blue-haired Things.
But this isn’t simply a retelling of the classic story many grew up with.
Instead, The Cat in the Hat expands the world of Dr. Seuss in a bold new direction, taking audiences on a magical adventure packed with imagination, humor and heart.
Voiced by Bill Hader, the Cat finds himself facing what may be his biggest challenge yet. Working for the I.I.I.I. — the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC — he is tasked with helping two siblings, Gabby and Sebastian, adjust to life after moving to a brand-new town.
Of course, this is the Cat in the Hat we’re talking about.
Things rarely go according to plan when he’s involved.
As the lovable agent of chaos pushes his unique brand of fun a little too far, he may find himself risking the very thing that makes him who he is — his magical hat.
Joining Hader is an impressive voice cast that includes Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson and Paula Pell. The film also features Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang and Tituss Burgess.
Behind the scenes, The Cat in the Hat is directed by Erica Rivinoja (Trolls, The Addams Family) and Alessandro Carloni (Kung Fu Panda 3, How to Train Your Dragon 2), bringing together a creative team with plenty of experience crafting animated adventures for audiences of all ages.
With vibrant visuals, a larger-than-life world and a fresh take on one of children’s literature’s most recognizable characters, The Cat in the Hat looks ready to introduce a new generation to the whimsical wonder that has made Dr. Seuss a beloved name for decades.
The Cat in the Hat arrives in theaters and IMAX across North America on November 6, with international releases beginning November 4.
Be sure to check out the new trailer and let us know if you’ll be joining the Cat, the Things and their latest adventure when they arrive in theaters later this year.
