Following Trailer, Disney’s “Descendants” Releases Music Video for “Perfect Princess”

Hot off the exciting heels of the newest trailer for the next installment of Disney’s popular “Descendants” franchise, fans are getting another glimpse at what awaits Red and Chloe in their next adventure.

The film series, which first began over a decade ago, follows the children of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains as they forge their own paths and discover who they want to become. Now, the story is preparing to continue the next chapter centered around the daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella—Red and Chloe.

In the previous film, the pair traveled back in time with the help of a magical pocket watch in an effort to alter the future they came from. One where a power-hungry and deeply wounded Queen of Hearts, Bridget, had taken control of Auradon Prep and sought revenge against Cinderella—Ella—her former best friend.

Determined to prevent that future from coming to pass, the two girls journeyed into the past. Along the way, they connected with younger versions of their mothers, gained a deeper understanding of the choices that shaped them, and ultimately prevented the event that led Bridget down a darker path.

But changing history always comes with consequences.

By the end of the film, viewers were left with more questions than answers. How had these changes affected Bridget and Ella? What impact had they had on their families? And perhaps most importantly, what had changed throughout the kingdom as a result?

The answer, it seems, is far more complicated than either Red or Chloe ever imagined.

As showcased in the newly released music video for “Perfect Princess,” arriving alongside the film this summer, the consequences of altering the past may be reaching much further than expected.

“Perfect Princess” has all the makings of a song destined for repeat listens. It’s upbeat, energetic, and undeniably catchy. Yet beneath its polished production lies something far more interesting.

The lyrics reveal a new struggle for both Red and Chloe.

Previously, songs centered around these characters often focused on self-confidence, personal growth, and overcoming immediate challenges. Their battles were largely internal. Even when Red clashed with Bridget over her choices, she never backed down from being herself.

Now, however, the pressure appears to be coming from somewhere else entirely.

Society.

For perhaps the first time, the girls seem to be facing expectations placed upon them by the world around them. Expectations about who they should be, how they should behave, and what role they should fill.
