Disney’s Iconic ‘Hoedown Throwdown’ Returns In New ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+’ Country Special

One of Disney’s most iconic musical moments is making its return.

Originally performed by Disney Legend Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana: The Movie, the instantly recognizable “Hoedown Throwdown” is being reimagined for a whole new generation as Mickey Mouse and friends put their own spin on the beloved dance number in the upcoming Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ special, “Mickey’s Country Farm.”

The brand-new full-length special trots onto Disney Jr. on July 30, before making its streaming debut the following day on Disney+.

A newly released first look showcases Mickey, Minnie and the gang alongside newcomer Lasso Lucy, voiced by acclaimed actress Megan Hilty, as they perform the updated rendition of the fan-favorite song. The new version of “Hoedown Throwdown” will also be released as a standalone single on June 26, allowing families to start learning the dance ahead of the special’s premiere.

In “Mickey’s Country Farm,” Mickey and his friends set out to build the Fairest Farm Fair ever using their brand-new farm vehicles, all in hopes that Daisy’s cowgirl idol, Lasso Lucy, will make a special appearance.

The country-themed celebration extends well beyond the special itself. Beginning July 27, Disney Jr. will debut a collection of “Mickey’s Country Farm Songs” shorts, giving preschool audiences even more musical adventures before the television event. Following the premiere, the soundtrack “Disney Jr. Music: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ – Mickey’s Country Farm” arrives on streaming services on July 31.

Fans can also bring the fun home later this summer with an all-new lineup of farm-inspired toys from Just Play, including a Mickey Mouse Hoedown Throwdown Plush and Barnyard Fun Playset.

The festivities continue with a brand-new Disney Jr. Play Break short, “Mickey and Minnie Farm,” debuting July 30 on Disney+, encouraging young viewers to get up, move and stay active.

Serving as a continuation of the Emmy Award-winning original series, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ introduces a new generation of preschoolers to Mickey, Minnie and their friends through fresh adventures while maintaining the heart and charm that made the original series a beloved Disney Jr. staple.

For longtime Disney fans, however, one moment is sure to stand above the rest. More than fifteen years after Miley Cyrus first taught audiences to “pop it, lock it, polka dot it,” the Hoedown Throwdown is once again ready to get families dancing—this time with Mickey leading the way.
