Streamers Disney+ and Hulu Throwback This Summer

The summer of nostalgia is officially here.

From iconic Disney Channel films to beloved television classics that defined an entire generation of viewers, Disney+ and Hulu are turning back the clock with an all-new celebration dedicated to the unforgettable magic of the 90s and early 2000s.

Launching as part of the expanding Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks campaign, fans can revisit some of their favorite stories, characters and soundtracks all summer long through curated collections, returning classics, themed experiences and brand-new original programming inspired by the era.

Building off the momentum of last year’s successful Throwbacks takeover, this year’s event grows even larger with more immersive experiences and nostalgic activations designed to transport longtime fans back to the height of Disney Channel and early Hulu-era entertainment. From the iconic style of The Cheetah Girls to the unforgettable rise of Hannah Montana, the campaign celebrates the titles that helped shape a generation of viewers.

One of the largest experiences arriving this summer is the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall heading to Los Angeles. Taking place at Westfield Century City across June 6 and June 7, the two-day pop-up experience features a collection of interactive attractions inspired by beloved Disney+ and Hulu classics. Fans attending can experience themed photo opportunities, collectible experiences, beauty activations and immersive throwback installations inspired by iconic franchises and films.

For those looking to relive the golden age of Disney Channel Original Movies, the fan-favorite Throwbacks Stream officially returns beginning May 22. Available for Premium subscribers, the all-day streaming event showcases a nonstop marathon featuring the top 50 Disney Channel Original Movies as part of the broader summer celebration.

The nostalgia rollout also includes a lineup of new programming additions heading to Disney+ throughout the summer. Among the upcoming releases are The Brave Little Toaster and Seasons 1 and 2 of The Weekenders arriving May 25, alongside the highly anticipated Camp Rock 3 this August and a brand-new season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place later this summer.

Fans can also celebrate milestone anniversaries for beloved titles through the Throwbacks Collection, featuring favorites including High School Musical, Hannah Montana, The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty.

The celebration extends beyond streaming itself through Disney+ Perks Summer Fridays beginning June 5, giving eligible subscribers access to themed experiences, special perks and interactive quizzes tied to the ongoing campaign.

Meanwhile, Explore Disney+ continues expanding the nostalgic experience through its Throwbacks Spotlight coverage, offering fans behind-the-scenes stories, retrospectives and deeper looks into many of the films and series that helped define the era.
