What once began as a kid-focused YouTube channel has now grown into one of the biggest children’s entertainment franchises in the world — and now CoComelon is preparing to take on its next major milestone: the big screen.
After months of anticipation and excitement surrounding the franchise’s first-ever theatrical adventure, brand-new details surrounding the upcoming film have finally been revealed.
Since its debut on YouTube, CoComelon has expanded far beyond its digital roots. From its explosive growth on global streaming giant Netflix to the launch of multiple successful spinoffs including CoComelon Lane, CoComelon Classroom, Cody Time, Nina’s Familia and JJ’s Animal Time, the franchise has continued to prove not only its cultural relevance, but also the massive impact it has created within modern children’s entertainment.
And the future of the franchise is only continuing to grow brighter. Alongside its upcoming arrival on Disney+ next year, CoComelon is also preparing for its first theatrical collaboration with Universal Pictures.
Currently slated to arrive in theaters on February 19, 2027, fans have been eagerly awaiting more details surrounding what this new cinematic story will hold for JJ and the world of CoComelon. While plot specifics are still being kept tightly under wraps, the film has already teased an epic adventure that will invite families to journey far beyond the familiar world audiences have come to know from the series.
Though the exact direction of JJ and his friends’ big-screen journey remains unknown, the film promises to deliver the original music and heartfelt storytelling that have become synonymous with the CoComelon brand.
Leading the music for the project is acclaimed songwriter Justin Tranter, who will also serve as the film’s music producer.
The voice cast is also bringing major star power to the growing franchise universe, with newcomers including SZA, Nicholas Hoult and Sarah Sherman joining the project. Additional cast members include Ike Barinholtz, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby and Cristo Fernández. They will join returning series cast members Connor Esterson, Camden Brooks, Olivia London and Aerina DeBoer as they reprise their roles from the show.
While many of the finer details surrounding the film still remain a mystery, the combination of major musical talent, an expansive voice cast and the continued growth of the franchise is already building excitement for what will likely become one of CoComelon’s biggest milestones yet.
