Legacy manga publisher TokyoPop is turning a new chapter with its newest storytelling endeavor — TokyoPop Kids.
While TokyoPop has released many titles for younger readers over the decades, this new imprint, focused on readers ages twelve and up, aims to further expand the publisher’s reach across the children’s and middle grade market.
The initiative will include manga, graphic novels, picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, and Spanish-language releases.
Launching this fall, TokyoPop Kids will debut with seven titles spanning a wide range of genres and formats. These releases include the graphic novels As Yubooh Slumbers by Paulina Palacios and Wild Paws by Victor Nordahl.
Additional releases include the picture books A Tree Swing to Soar by Jungyoon Huh with illustrations by Soyung Lee, alongside That Girl by Toshiyuki Fukuda.
Readers can also look forward to the chapter book Nightmare Library by Taiga Kayama, as well as Spanish-language editions of Barbie and Teresa: The Secret Recipe by Courtney Cabone and As Yubooh Slumbers.
TokyoPop’s expansion further strengthens the publisher’s presence within the growing manga and graphic novel market, particularly as demand for manga and manga-inspired storytelling continues to rise worldwide.
Given TokyoPop’s longstanding legacy within the manga industry and its established connection with readers across generations, the publisher appears well-positioned for success as it enters an increasingly competitive and evolving publishing landscape.
