Disney is bringing the magic once again with its next animated feature, Hexed, slated for a November release.
While the original project has been on the studio’s radar for some time, new details emerged following Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon 2026.
Now set to debut on November 25—perfectly timed for the Thanksgiving and early holiday season—Hexed promises a different kind of enchantment, centered on the ever-relatable bond between a mother and daughter.
Led by Hailee Steinfeld as Billie and Rashida Jones as her mother Alice, the film leans into the familiar awkwardness of teenage life—this time with a magical twist that sets the stage for a larger adventure.
At the heart of the story is Billie Doe, an unconventional teenager stuck in a quiet, uneventful town—until she discovers she’s a witch. The revelation puts her at odds with her type-A mother, Alice, and quickly pulls the pair into a world of magic. From there, the journey appears to split in two directions: Billie stepping into who she’s meant to become, while Alice struggles to restore a sense of normalcy.
Alongside the story and casting, Disney also unveiled early character designs, emphasizing both the visual similarities and subtle contrasts between the two leads—further reinforcing the film’s central emotional dynamic.
With magic and family long serving as cornerstones of Disney storytelling, Hexed is shaping up to resonate strongly with audiences—especially mother-daughter duos—during a season built around connection and togetherness.
