Fall Under the Spell of Monster High’s New Series Moonspell Magic

Mattel’s Monster High has always been a series rich with creativity, diversity, and innovation. Since the line’s debut in the 2010s, Monster High has continually strived to set the bar higher with new creations in the form of stories, characters, and, naturally, fashion. From their fangtastic freaky fashions to binge-worthy animated content and haunting music tracks, there is a lot to enjoy within the hallowed halls of Monster High.

While we love our ghouls and all that Monster High brings to life, we are absolutely delighted to see the world of Monster High expand even further with an all-new extension of its universe.

Coming to retailers this July is Moonspell Magic.

This all-new doll line introduces five fantastically fashionable characters from a supernatural world where monsters and witches coexist. Given that Monster High’s most recent generation introduced the concept of witchcraft — with fan-favorite Draculaura practicing it — this expansion feels well established. With the groundwork already laid, we are excited to see what direction this new concept will take.

Just like its big sister brand, Moonspell Magic focuses on encouraging fans to embrace their own magic while discovering the power of friendship. In addition to themes of empowerment and connection, the line is also committed to inclusive design, developed with the support of partner organizations including the American Foundation for the Blind and Hearing Milestones.

Moonspell Magic dolls come with unique styles and accessories, including handbags, spellbooks, potion bottles, and more. Each doll also includes a cauldron featuring a magical surprise — simply add water to reveal an amulet necklace.

Not only do these characters feature stunning and distinctive designs, but we also appreciate the strong messaging centered around empowerment, individuality, and friendship. Carina Song is a love witch who practices the magic of friendship and helps others tap into self love and their inner glow. She mixes magic perfumes that can lift moods and channel inner strengths. Dressed in pink, this doll comes with a potion perfume bottle, a spellbook, and a moonlight mirror.

The nature witch Willow Thorne is decked out in earth-toned clothes. She loves to spend time in the garden and make healing potions. She is hard of hearing and wears a hearing aid, but is very in tune with the Earth and can talk with trees and plants to help them bloom. This doll comes with a pouch belt and a moth purse for foraging magic herbs, as well as a spell jar of plants, a potion bottle, and a nature spellbook.

The Claire de Luna doll shimmers in star-accented clothing. She comes with a witch’s hat, a moon purse, a crystal ball for telling fortunes, a star guidebook, and a potion bottle. She is a clairvoyant witch, and though she is blind, she can read the constellations. This doll also comes with tinted sunglasses and a cane.

Layla Stone is a crystal witch dressed in jewel-toned clothes. Layla uses the power of gemstones to make jewelry with special protection patterns. Her accessories include a metallic jacket, an amethyst-colored witch hat, a crystal with invisibility powers, a potion bottle, and a spellbook.

Dressed in bright colors and sparkles, Rae Lumina is a sun witch who lights up every room. Her powers include creating rainbows and channeling energy from the sun. This doll comes with accessories such as a tasseled messenger bag, a sunbeam candle, a potion bottle, and a sunshine spellbook.
