The animated hit makers has some new things coming in the future like new shorts for True and the Rainbow Kingdom, the studios first-ever theatrical feature film, the rights to the children’s book series, Where’s Spot, and our favorite announcement a new family mini-series adaptation of Charlotte’s Web. The Charlotte’s Web mini series if for Sesame Workshop and HBO Max.

All great news for Guru Studio as they look forward to the future.

Guru Studio, the animation force behind some of the most iconic and beloved children’s characters of the last two decades, is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary!

Founded in 2000 as a three-person commercial shop helming national US advertising campaigns for FCB Chicago (Kraft Mac & Cheese), DDB New York (P&G/Novartis/Enablex), and FCB Toronto (Nabisco/Planet Snak), Guru has evolved into a powerhouse in the animation industry, renowned for hit shows like PAW Patrol (Spin Master/Nickelodeon), Ever After High (Mattel), production on the feature film The Breadwinner (Aircraft Pictures/Cartoon Saloon/Melusine Productions) and most recently their multi-format and multi-platform work on Sesame Workshop’s Mecha Builders, soon to arrive on Netflix as part of the recently announced deal.

The studio also manages a growing slate of original properties including the hit Netflix series True and the Rainbow Kingdom (Netflix),the Emmy-nominated Justin Time (Family/Disney), Pikwik Pack (Disney/Hulu), and Big Blue (CBC).

Guru’s animated shows are loved by millions of families on popular broadcast and streaming platforms around the world, and across the studio’s 15+ YouTube channels, having generated over 3 billion views to date.

“We’re incredibly humbled to be marking 25 years doing what we love,” said Frank Falcone, Guru Studio’s President. “The studio’s growth and success have always come from our collective intuition and the creative risks we’ve been willing to take on creating animated stories we strongly believe in. We’ve been very fortunate to work with so many talented artists and supportive partners brave enough to take these leaps of faith with us. I’m proud of having brought to life characters who continue to resonate with our harshest critics – kids and parents!”

Looking ahead, Guru is excited to unveil several exciting new content and creator partnerships, including new shorts for True and the Rainbow Kingdom, and the studio’s first-ever theatrical feature film.

The studio has wrapped production on a family mini-series adaptation of the beloved classic Charlotte’s Web for Sesame Workshop and HBO Max, and has recently acquired the TV rights to 25 titles from Penguin Random House’s best-selling children’s book series Where’s Spot?

Guru kicked off their 25-year milestone celebrations earlier this year with a featured panel at TAAFI (Toronto Animation Arts Festival International), continuing with a gala celebration in Toronto, and the launch of a limited-edition Guru 25 Year Pin Collection highlighting iconic characters and moments from its award-winning work. More events and exciting announcements are planned throughout the year!
