Amphibia: Strange Voyage Is What We Desperately Needed

Amphibia: Strange Voyage Is What We Desperately Needed

There is so much to unpack here as we still fondly remember the Amphibia Disney series, even if the ending was a little sad for us. The show sits in our top 5 animated series of all time and the worldbuilding and character development was top notch from Matt Braly and the team. There was an itch though, an itch that we couldn’t scratch that had us wondering what was Sprig now up to. Anne, well we feel like we know a little bit more of how her life turns out and because she is living in our world, we can make a lot more assumptions. Sprig and family on the other hand, living in Amphibia we really do not know what has transpired since the series has ended and what is happening in the rest of their world.

Not to worry, as Amphibia: Strange Voyage is going to be a continuation. While we love lore, there is just something special about seeing something about what Sprig and friends are up to now and we are on board. It will be a graphic novel series with 10 books and they will be exploring a new continent in this upcoming adventure. We hope there are some nods to Anne and the crew but we are also curious to see what type of amphibian species we are going to get on this new part of the world. Even though we don’t know a lot about Amphibia: Strange Voyage just yet, knowing that is coming has made us all very happy.

Amphibia: Strange Voyage is an upcoming ten-issue graphic novel miniseries and spin-off of the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. Written by Matt Braly and illustrated by Beatrice Bovo, and published by Disney Books and TokyoPop, the novel will be a continuation of the series and follow Sprig and his friends exploring a new continent in an adventure.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
