LyricFind Kids has teamed up with Murray Cook, co-founder of The Wiggles, and Lizzie Mack to bring the “Swimming Down Below” song and video to life. We got a chance to speak to both Murray and Lizzie about how they met and their new song. You can find the song on all streaming platforms and you can watch the video below.
BSCKids: Tell us how you both met
Lizzie: We met in our hometown of Sydney, Australia. We are both “live music fanatics” so go to all the best live music shows. Since are both very tall we would always wave and say hello! We started making music together when Murray retired from the OG Wiggles.
How much input did you have into the making of the video for the song?
Murray and Lizzie: We tweaked the visuals of our outfits to be a bit more of the groovy “vintage” stage look we like to make our music in. We are big fans of making our own costumes so wanted to be sure we looked like ourselves. And it was awesome to be sea creatures.
Tell us something we would be surprised to learn about you?
Murray: “I love playing guitar – of course – but I also like going to the gym! It’s my “self care time”. Lizzie really does like swimming – and swims in the oceans and beaches around Sydney every single day!
If you could have a collaboration with any singer or group which would it be and why?
Murray and Lizzie: We have done some fabulous collaborations in the past, but we would really love is with a guitarist called John Fogarty from a very famous American band called Credence Clearwater Revival. The Soul Movers (our band) have played the hit “Proud Mary” as an encore in their live shows hundreds of times and Murray met John through a Wiggles collaboration so we hope John – and perhaps his lovely, musical family – might be up for it!
Do you have fun recording your parts in the song?
Murray and Lizzie: We certainly did! There was much laughter and merriment; Murray especially enjoyed doing some voices – you might even recognize one voice as sounding a little bit like the original “Dorothy the Dinosaur”!
Do you have any more songs in the works?
Murray and Lizzie: Yes we do! It is the song we did with LF Kids called In The Playground. It is about what childhood meant to us growing up as country kids in Australia.
We have both always been Murray massive “dog people” so we wanted to create a song that had all the joy and fun, mud and grass and running around that we did as kids.
Where did you get the idea for the song and what was your inspiration?
Princess Haley: The idea for Swimming Down Below splashed into my mind one cozy evening as I watched the little clownfish we kept in a tank in my living room. As Nemo was zipping and twirling through his tank, looking so carefree, in his underwater world, I couldn’t help but wonder—what if we traded places? What if I could dive into his world? Growing up in Newfoundland, the ocean has always felt like a part of me, like a song I’ve known forever. It all clicked in that moment that this was the perfect story to bring to life in a song!
What makes LF Kids unique?
Princess Haley: LyricFind Kids brings music to life with a mix of fun, learning, and creativity! Not only do we sprinkle fresh magic on classic children’s songs, but we also dream up brand-new tunes from our imaginations. We love doing the videos blending old and new , LF Kids is a musical wonderland and it never stops being FUN!
