FAMILY-FRIENDLY ADVENTURE “AUTUMN AND THE BLACK JAGUAR” COMING TO THEATERS NATIONWIDE JANUARY 17
“Blue Fox Entertainment is bringing the family-friendly adventure Autumn and the Black Jaguar to U.S. theaters nationwide January 17, 2025. The international box office hit comes from the same formidable talents behind the global successes Mia and the White Lion and The Wolf and the Lion. Directed by Gilles de Maistre, the film marks another collaboration with producer Catherine Camborde, and his wife, writer Prune de Maistre, who penned the screenplay.”
The family-friendly adventure stars Lumi Pollack (Disney’s “How We Became the Biggest Band in the World.”), Emily Bett Rickards (CW’s Arrow), Paul Greene (Somewhere), and Wayne Charles Baker (Indian Horse), with Kelly Hope Taylor (Good Sam), and newcomers Lucrezia Pini and Airam Camacho rounding out the cast.
Growing up in the Amazon rainforest gave Autumn the rarest of friendships – a lost jaguar cub she discovers named Hope. When a tragic event forces Autumn to leave Hope for the unknowns of New York City, she dreams for years of going back to the rainforest and her friend. Aged 14, and having grown accustomed to city life, Autumn discovers her childhood village is under threat from animal traffickers and decides she must return to the Amazon to her beloved jaguar. Anja (Emily Bett Rickards) – Autumn’s endearingly clumsy biology teacher – unsuccessfully tries to dissuade her from this reckless plan. Joined by Anja, Autumn embarks on a journey to reunite with Hope and save her from those who seek to destroy the rainforest and its wildlife.
Remarkably, before filming their scenes together, Lumi Pollack who plays “Autumn” spent over a year playing and bonding with “Hope” the jaguar, from the time Hope was just a cub barely a month old. This imprinting phase created a true bond between the two that couldn’t be faked on screen.
“Following the box office success of ‘The Wolf and The Lion’ we are thrilled to add ‘Autumn and the Black Jaguar’ to our theatrical slate. Gilles and his talented team once again take audiences on an adventure, this time into the jungles of the Amazon, filled with beauty, animals and a great supporting cast,” said Blue Fox Entertainment’s James Huntsman.
