While Flow has been shown at some animation festivals already, we are getting a theatrical release on 11/22 as we follow the natural and mystical journey of a cat, a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog as their area is devastated by a flood. They must work together in search of dry land to survive this newly aquatic planet, as we deal with themes of the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community.
There has been a lot of positive talk about Flow with the animation, story and the concept. While there is no dialog, it does create a very emotional story for the audience. There is some talk about how Flow might have the look of a video game and maybe that it should have been a game instead of a movie, but based on the trailer, this is a movie we are looking forward to seeing. There will be some mystical elements to this story as well, which should really capture the viewer.
A wondrous journey, through realms natural and mystical, Flow follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet. From the boundless imagination of the award-winning Gints Zilbalodis (Away) comes a thrilling animated spectacle as well as a profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community. Steeped in the soaring possibilities of visual storytelling, Flow is a feast for the senses and a treasure for the heart.
