Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Hit Or Miss With Janice LeAnn Brown And Taylor Cora?

If you ask our household what their favorite Disney Channel show was, you get a few different answers from kids to parents, but all of those lists will include Wizards of Waverly Place. Now what that means is that we are all excited to see what has happened to Justin and his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. Not only that, but Alex is back as she brings in Billie so that Justin can help mentor the wizard in training. Just has other responsibilities as well with the family, so juggling those with his family and keeping the Wizarding World safe will lend itself to some interesting adventures.

Selena and David had great chemistry in the original series, so we know that they will work together well. We wonder if Alex will be a main character, or if we are only going to see her in the beginning as she drops off Billie? We also will find out how Justin is doing leading a normal mortal life, which seems like it would be less interesting, and what happens to his job as wizard school headmaster? We know that Max gets the sub shop, so how is he dealing with a life without magic as well? Also we really don’t know much about Alex’s life turns out or how she meets Billie, so there are a lot of questions to answer.

We are considering this a hit, based on the returning characters, the world that it exists in, Selena and David being involved as producers, and the fact that many generations enjoyed the show. Looking forward to this show very much!

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will premiere later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+ so stay tuned for information about the date soon. Would also love to see Jake T. Austin as Max Russo, Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle, David DeLuise as Jerry Russo and Maria Canals Barrera as Theresa Russo show up at some point during the show, even if just a glimpse. ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Title and First-Look Images Revealed Announcement Made by Executive Producer Selena Gomez at the Disney Upfront in New York

The official title of the new series “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” — a continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning “Wizards of Waverly Place” — was announced on stage at the Disney Upfront today by Selena Gomez. Gomez, who serves as the new series’ executive producer and guest star, also revealed first-look images and the series logo.

The photos provide a glimpse of Gomez and David Henrie reprising their roles as Alex and Justin Russo. It also serves as an introduction to series lead Billie, portrayed by Janice LeAnn Brown, and the Russo family, played by Mimi Gianopulos (Giada Russo), Alkaio Thiele (Roman Russo) and Max Matenko (Milo Russo).

Additionally, newcomer Taylor Cora has joined the regular series cast in the role of Winter, Billie’s bubbly, quirky and oversharing best friend.

Series Synopsis: The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.

Premiere Date: From Disney Branded Television, the series is slated to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ later this year.

Creative Team: Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with Gary Marsh, Gomez and Henrie. Andy Fickman directed and executive-produced the pilot and will direct multiple episodes.
