So can The Naughty Nine from Disney become a holiday classic? Could it be something that we watch every year? Based on a few videos and some information, let us take a look and see what gut tells us about this upcoming movie. This is a holiday heist movie where Andy and some friends realize they have been put on the naughty list this year and don’t get presents as Christmas morning is pretty dismal with Santa skipping them. Now Andy, along with the rest of the kids that Santa did not stop at, hatch a plan to go to the North Pole and get the presents they feel like they deserve. They will have a discovery (as it is right there in the summary) that maybe the best way off the list is to just be good. Now let us look at this present heisting gang.
Winslow Fegley as Andy – Naughty List
Madilyn Kellam as Laurel – Gymnast
Ayden Elijah as Albert – Adorable Innocent
Derek Theler as Bruno – Pilot
Anthony Joo as Lewis – Naughty List
Imogen Cohen as Ha-Yoon – Getaway Driver
Clara Stack as Rose – Animal Whisperer
Camila Rodriguez as Dulce – Naughty List
Deric Mccabe as Jon Anthony – Master of Disguise
So we like to look at the characters, story, and effects (world building) to see what we have in store for us, and with The Naughty Nine the characters look sharp. Based on our limited video, Andy pulls off that good kid at heart even though he is mischievous, and you know we are huge Imogen Cohen fans so always happy to see her. The team has a bunch of people that should make getting to the North Pole a bit easier, we are interested to see how they get Bruno the pilot to commit to the plan, though. The story has us intrigued as we may also get some insight on how you get on the naughty list and how you get off and a holiday heist we know is a solid holiday play. From what we have seen the North Pole looks pretty good and that is the movie needed to make us really get invested in the story.
We are going to call The Naughty Nine a hit, and we look forward to watching it and seeing if we are right.
Premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on Disney Channel and Thanksgiving Day on Disney+
“The Naughty Nine” is a holiday heist movie — think “Ocean’s 11” at the North Pole — that follows fifth grader Andy, who has been a bit of a troublemaker this year. When Christmas morning rolls around and Andy gets stiffed by Santa, he realizes he’s on the “naughty list.” Feeling unfairly maligned, Andy pulls together a crack team of fellow “naughty listers” to execute an elaborate heist to get the presents he and the others feel they deserve. However, in the process of finding their gifts, the gang discovers that the best way off the naughty list is to redirect their unique talents for good instead of mischief.
