The Monkey King, an animated movie, will be coming to Netflix this summer, and it has a Monkey and his magic fighting stick going on a huge quest, but his biggest challenge may not be a foe, but rather his own ego. It seems that a young village girl will be the one to let The Monkey King know all about his ego and self-centered attitude and hopefully lead him on a path to self-discovery and having a positive effect on the world. All we really have at this point are a few pictures, but the style seems to fit the movie, and we are looking forward to all the action scenes.
Netflix is really doing a great job with their upcoming animated movies, and The Monkey King just looks to be one of the many that we will be enjoying this year and next. Remember, The Monkey King can also be referred to as Sun Wukong as well, and there is a deep history with this legendary mythical figure to draw from.
