Disney+ is giving us some real good book adaptions and we have another announcement that has the Tehlor Kay Mejia written novel Paola Santiago and the River of Tears being made into a live action series. This Latin folklore series will have Paola who believes in science being put in a world of magic as she tries to find her best friend and save her from monsters and spirits. The show is inspired by the legend of La Llorona (the Weeping Woman) and if you look at the book summary it should be about her friends and the river and staying as far away as possible from the river especiallys with her mother’s superstitions. If it follows the same plot, Emma is supposed to meet up with Paola but never shows and Paola does see something mysterious.
We are really looking forward to seeing how Paola Santiago and the River of Tears comes together as the story seems just scary enough.
