Ultra Violet & Blue Demon has been announced and we take a quick look at all the information that we have to decide how excited we are. We have a quick synopsis of what the show is about below and then let us jump in and see about the characters, the cast and the story.
A magical luchador mask selects 13-year-old Violet to become Ultra, the superhero successor to her uncle, who is the famous Mexican wrestler Blue Demon Jr. and a superhero-in-disguise. Ultra begins her own secret superhero training with her uncle, all while having to navigate the ups and downs of middle school. As they start to work together, Uncle Blue realizes he can learn a few things from Ultra’s modern Gen-Z take on crime-fighting.
The characters and cast start off with Blue Demon Jr. who is a real Mexican cultural icon and this was a great idea to use as a superhero. There is a little bit real a little bit fantasy mixed in there. Ultra is being played by site favorite Scarlett Estevez (from Bunk’d) as she is looking to become the superhero successor to Blue Demon Jr. Filling out the cast are:
Marianna Burelli as Violet’s mother, Nina
Juan Alfonso as Violet’s father, Sebastian
Brandon Rossel as Violet’s brother, Miguelito
Zelia Ankrum as Violet’s best friend, Trudy
Bryan Blanco as Violet’s goody-two-shoes classmate Enrique Diaz-Diaz
The story feels like it is going to do well with the superhero take between the two generations with Blue Demo Jr. as the teacher and Ultra as the student. With most of these takes, we understand that the student may help teach the teacher as well. Love the idea of the professional wrestler is really a super hero and Ultra Violet & Blue Demon seems like a hit based on what we know so far. Ultra Violet & Blue Demon seems like it will be a fun watch and you can find some more cast pictures below.
