Phew, we are finally towards the end as we will not be talking the Star Wars or Marvel announcements here, so we bring you the Walt Disney Television Studio announcements and thoughts.
Beauty and the Beast: The Prequel Series – The reason that this is going to be a watch, is that we get the Gaston and Lefou backstory we all want, well hopefully. This will star Luke Evans and Josh Gad and will have new music composed by Disney Legend Alan Menken. Normally I am not a prequel guy, but Gaston is a family favorite.
Swiss Family Robinson – This is going to be re-imagining of the original and we hope that is not one set anywhere in our time, but hopefully back before technology. We love the premise and hope that they do this one right as it still is a fun attraction at the parks and could really introduce people to a great story. Really looking forward to more information on this one.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians – This will be based on the bestselling book series by Rick Riordan and from what we hear from our friends, the current set of movies didn’t do everything right, so we think this could be a do over sort of thing. Might be interesting, not sure just yet.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers – A sequel to the originals, but since I wasn’t a fan of the originals it won’t be for me. That said, people are really excited for this one and how it will play out.
Turner & Hooch – A pass for me.
Big Shot – Super interested in this one as it is set in a high school basketball setting, but the knock for me is Stamos. He is forever Uncle Jesse to me and it is tough for me to feel his characters outside of that role. Yvette Nicole Brown is great though and looking forward to seeing her on the show. Hopefully Stamos can prove me wrong.
The Mysterious Benedict Society – Based on the books by Trenton Lee Stewart and Carson Ellis that were published in 2007. The story sounds very intriguing as it focuses on some gifted children that for this Mysterious Benedict Society as they try to find out more information about L.I.V.E. (the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened). This is one of those shows I am really looking forward to.
