We are so looking forward to A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting, which is coming to Netflix on October 14th and we had the awesome opportunity to speak with Alessio Scalzotto who plays Victor.
Breakout star/teen heartthrob Alessio Scalzotto stars in the upcoming Netflix/Ivan Reitman produced film A BABYSITTER’S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING, opposite Indya Moore (“Pose”) and Tom Felton (HARRY POTTER), premiering on the platform on October 14th. Alessio made his film debut last year in the McG directed (CHARLIE’S ANGELS), “Stranger Things” meets Independence Day mixed with Camp Nowhere film RIM OF THE WORLD, now streaming globally on Netflix and claimed the top spot for Netflix’s UK top ten list as one of the most popularly streamed movies in the country when it debuted, also catapulting Alessio to over 300k Instagram followers in just a few days.
BSCKids: Alessio, tell us a bit about your character in A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting?
Alessio Scalzotto: I played Victor who is Kelly, one of the main characters crush.
A BABYSITTER’S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING is based on the first book in the series by Joe Ballarini from Harper Collins imprint Katherine Tegen Books. The film will follow first-time babysitter Kelly Ferguson, whose charge is kidnapped by the Boogeyman. She then discovers a secret society of fierce babysitters who protect children – and an entire world of monsters she will have to fight in order to save the child she’s looking after.
Do you feel like you have anything in common with your character?
We look the same😆. No but seriously we were both in high school just looking to meet and hang out with friends.
Did you read the book to get ready for filming?
No I didn’t have time before the filming it all happened so fast.
What do you feel like was the hardest part of filming A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting and the most fun part of filming?
Waking up early was the hardest part. Hanging out with the cast after shoots was fun. We skateboarded downtown went to visit nearby cities and went zip lining.

Who do you feel you learned the most from while filming?
Honestly it was an internal learning process. I learned different ways of portraying a character. The cast overall was awesome.
If you could guest star on any other Netflix show which one would it be and why?
Black Mirror for sure.
What is your favorite post of yours on Instagram and why?
I think all of the ones that have snippets or short videos of my music.
Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I was born and raised in Italy.
A newcomer to Hollywood, Alessio showed his true breakout star potential with his starring role in the McG film and an appearance on “Genius: Picasso,” playing the teenaged Picasso on the series. In addition to acting, Alessio spends his free time making music under the name “zotto.” His music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music and more.
Was it hard to dedicate less time to your music to focus on your acting?
Not at all because I brought all my equipment with me and never took a break.
