You may know Malea Emma from her singing career, National Anthem at major sporting events, or from her acting career, which consists of Coop and Cami Ask the World, or maybe you have seen her in some commercials she is has done. Malea Emma has talent and we look forward to seeing where her career takes her, and we have been lucky enough to get a chance to speak with her as she continues on her path of great things.
BSCKids: Malea, tell us about your career and how you got started?
Malea Emma: I am a singer and actor. I have been singing since I was 1 year old even before I could speak. My professional singing career started when my National Anthem singing video at the LA Galaxy game went viral in September 2018. Since then, I have been singing in so many major sport games and public/private events. I started my acting career when I booked Jeep commercial when I was 4 years old. Since then I have worked on some commercials, TV shows, musical theater (I was Moly in Annie the Musical at the Hollywood Bowl in 2018) and also a feature film.
Dance, Singing or Modeling, which one do you find the most fun and which one do you find to be the hardest?
The most fun would be singing. I love singing. I always sing everywhere all the time. Sometimes my parents even had to ask me to stop singing when I was doing my homework or eating!
The hardest would be dancing. Don’t get me wrong, I love dancing too. But compared to singing and modelling, dancing is definitely harder.
Where has been your favorite place to sing? Do you have a favorite sport you like to watch?
I don’t have just one favorite place to sing. All events are my favorites. Each of them has their own uniqueness that makes it very special to me. Like when I got to sing a duet with Jennifer Holliday in Good Morning America or when I was invited to sing in American Idol in front of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, and even though I was too young to compete, they gave me the golden ticket for me to come back when I am old enough. The sport games are also very fun because I get to watch the game after I sing.
My favorite sports to watch are soccer and basketball because I love playing soccer and basketball at school.
Is there anywhere that you would like to perform that you have not yet?
Yes, I would love to sing at the Superbowl one day! It’s okay to dream big, right?
Violin vs Piano, do you have a favorite?
I love playing both instruments but if I have to choose, I like piano better because violin is actually very hard. I also just started learning playing ukulele too. Ukulele is very fun!

What was it like being on Coop & Cami Ask The World? Were there any fun things that happened behind the scenes?
Being on Coop & Cami was amazing! Coop & Cami was one of my favorite shows and I watched all their season 1 episodes. So when I booked a recurring guest star role in season 2, that felt so amazing. I mean, I got to be on the show that I used to watch on TV! It’s like a dream come true.
On top of that, all the cast and crew were super nice to me. I loved working on the set every single day.
I had so much fun working on Coop & Cami. I got to learn how to fall with the stunt coordinator. On 1 of the episodes, I had to fall off stage twice. The scenes were very short, but to make sure I fell safely I had to practice with the stunt coordinator so many times. It was very fun though, I didn’t mind to do it hundreds of times! I also loved hanging out with the casts. Ruby and Olivia were like big sisters to me. And Dakota and I liked to prank Albert. They were so funny. I also loved playing with Paxton during the break. I really missed them.
What other television shows do you watch? Are there any YouTube channels you like?
I like Raven’s Home and Sydney To The Max on Disney Channel and Go! Vive Tu Manera and Sugar Rush on Netflix.
On YouTube, I like watching Troom Troom Select and 123Go!. And of course my own YouTube Channel @MaleaEmma. 🙂
Tell us about any fun projects you have coming up?
Unfortunately because of this pandemic, some of my projects got canceled. But I just released a new single, called My Hero which I dedicated this song to all medical workers who are on the front of the lines against coronavirus, I have another episode on Coop and Cami that will be aired soon, I also guest star on Raven’s Home that I believe will be aired this Summer, and I will be in a feature film, After Yang, opposite Collin Farrell, Jodie Turner Smith, Justin Min and Haley Lu Richardson that will be released very soon. In the meantime, I am creating singing video weekly on my YouTube channel.
You can follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube (@MaleaEmma) to check out all my fun projects. 🙂
