Ballet Breakdown by Margaret Gurevich and illlustrated by Claire Almon had a two things that our daughter likes in a book, dance and friends. She read through the first book and was thoroughly excited to learn that there were more books in the Academy of Dance series.
Ballet Breakdown by Margaret Gurevich Illustrated by Claire Almon
Jada isn’t thrilled to leave her old life in Philadelphia behind. Not only is she saying goodbye to her school and her friends, she also has to leave her dance team. Jada lives for ballet, and thankfully, she finds a way to keep dancing at Ms. Marianne’s Academy of Dance. But when an injury threatens to sideline Jada before the big competition, she has to find a way to overcome her anxiety and her injury or risk letting down her new team
Luciana V talks a bit about the book and answers some questions that we came up with.
The book was about a girl who really loved ballet and she recently moved from Philadelphia to NJ. I loved the fact that they used a lot of real dancing terms and that there was a glossary.
