Elena of Avalor, one of our favorite animated shows, has just won a 2019 Namic (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications) National Vision Award for animation and we are excited this show is getting more recognition. What we really enjoyed about the series is how the kids could go from watching Sofia The First right into Elena of Avalor as they grew older without missing a beat, especially with the cross over the shows did.
Congratulations to #ElenaofAvalor for winning a 2019 @NamicNational Vision Award in the Animation category!
There is a lot to love about Elena and the show as it draws on the many Latin American cultures for the inspiration of the world. There are a lot of different legends and myths from the many cultures that everyone now gets to learn about from the show that they might not otherwise have known about. Namic got it right with the award and we look forward to watching even more of Elena of Avalor and the new stories that they come up with. Our favorite secondary characters are the Jaquins, who are a combination of both macaws and jaguars, both which are found in Latin America.
The writers do a great job at this show and incorporate so many of the different cultures. Congratulations!
