Disney Channel has made some major announcements regarding their upcoming Kim Possible live action movie. The original voice of the titular character for the animated television series, Christy Carlson Romano, has officially joined the cast of the live action movie!
Unfortunately, Romano will only be appearing in a cameo role which is a bit of a disappointment but the fact that she is involved in anyway shows that maybe the movie is heading in the right direction. Also announced to join the cast is Patton Oswalt who is expected to play the villainous Professor Dementor, the same character he voiced in the show.
The original animated series launched in 2002 and ran for 87 episodes, and was nominated for an Emmy in 2003 for outstanding animated program. It also inspired two animated Disney Channel movies, “Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama” and “Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time.” However, this is the first time the series will be adapted into the live-action venue.
The movie, which is expected to debut in 2019, stars Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible and Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable. The rest of the cast includes Alyson Hannigan, Todd Stashwick, Taylor Ortega, Ciara Wilson, Erika Tham, Issac Ryan Brown, and Connie Ray.
